I tried to move to HU. It went well in terms of $EV/h but I encountered problem with concentration.

When I play my "standard" 6max session (2k hands 4h+4h) I can fully concentrate on action and maintain steady results but HU is a different animal. Because bumhunting is only way to make +ev in HU while playing with regs is only help develop skills, standard HU session is like 30 min of play, 30 min of waiting and so on. My brain just can't adjust to it, because it goes to "idle mode" after match and then I need some time to "wake him up" to full capacity and often when it happens next match is already half-done. In result of that I have lack of motivation to play HU because after hard match and some time of rest, I just can't force myself to next match.

Does anybody had similar problems? What do you think is really profitable HU or 6max in terms of play efficiency and so on?

seems like you already answered your question. play 6max.

why don't you just play 6max and bumhunt a couple HU tables on the side?

i tried doing that a while back, it's a LOT easier said than done. i'd be playing 6m, then get a guy at one of the hu tables and it'd usually be ok. then i'd get another one or two hu tables going and convince myself i had an edge on them too so i needed to keep all the tables going, when in reality it was almost impossible to play anywhere near my A game with that many opponents/tables going simultaneously

lol it's not hard at all. just click the sitout button on your worst 6max table when you hit your predetermined table limit

Everyone has different MTR thresholds.

Ive tried 4 tabling 6max+ 2hu tables and its simply a no go'er for me. HU poker makes me sad these days for the reasons described by OP so i play 90% 6max and alittle HU for a break.

(if you play regs)

OP

if you're a winner @ both, 6max is the most efficient. IN HUNL, you can win more per hand via bumhunting however volume is exponentially scarcer than 6m. 6m you have the benefit of playing 30mins-1hr session if you so chose to.

So you can choose to win $.5/hand a playing 1k hands a day or win $.3/hand playing 1.75 hands a day.

It's a personal preference imo because it's slightly more complex than that

I would advise against HU and 6 max combined. A decent HU opponent will eat you alive unless you have excellent concentration and memory.

Assuming you are good, your hourly with HU will be higher. Fact. However you will get a lot more hours of play in per day with 6 max.

HU poker is more fun and creative. Interesting spots come up every few hands against an aggro opponent.

The variance can be pretty soul crushing at times. I am also unusual because I believe HU poker is bad for your 6 max game. Turned me into too much of a station. Seriously, you will never fold a strong hand again after you've played 50k hands of HU lol.

yea i agree with this. i've been playing mostly hu the last 2 years and whenever i would go play some 6m i would just feel out of sorts (and not be able to fold anything like you said). it's taken me a while to finally get back to feeling comfortable at 6m again

It's rediculous how accurate this statement is.
My 6 max game was average at best once i moved to hu it was non existant !
On the plus side my win rate is up sigificantly at hu
