Re: middle pair against 3barrell

For the villain, doesn't it look like the OP has a small pair or busted draw? Therefore, shouldn't it seem like he can't really call a 78% bet on the river after this runout? If villain had something good, wouldn't it be better for him to either bet something smaller to encourage a crying call or check to induce a bluff? Given all this, and given our read on the villain, shouldn't we look him up this time?

Re: middle pair against 3barrell

if you the same Villains again and again u should analyse their game a lil bit
this gives you much more confidence in spots like this and thus dont need post specific hands where other ppl could just give general advise

obv your range seems to be weak but it's not necessary weak
both blinds look like weak players so u can flat a lot of hands otb.. that includes Khxh Jhxh and overpairs (ok i admit u raise these on the flop with a higher frequency)

i'd think about Villains cbet frequency here vs me (and esp the betsizing.. 18 into 30)

Re: middle pair against 3barrell

Given the description, I think the crucial question is how often villain is value betting JT or TT. If they value bet extremely thin, calling is not a good option and shoving becomes the better alternative.

Re: middle pair against 3barrell

Villain is a 23/19 TAG, which means (if he's positionally aware) he opens like... ~14% from MP?

When you couple this fact (77 actually isn't a mandatory flat against 14%) together with the other fact that villain, by your description, seems competent and has given you trouble in the past, we could fold preflop and feel okay about it to avoid spots like these (you will probably flame me for saying this though but w/e).

As played, my default would probably be to fold turn.

Oh I thought villain was 21/19 overall.

Well against 19% I guess it's hard to get away pre. :P
