LIVE $2/$5 NL

Eff. Stack was mine at $770. V covers

Villain: We have some antagonistic history. He is a TAGish Reg who is not afraid to 3-bet in position - especially vs me. I'd say he is a good player and is certainly not straight forward.

Hero: Active and aggressive. I just showed down Q8o which I raised from CO. So my image is likely LAG ish at this point.

Pre-flop: I raise to $15 (my standard raise) from UTG+1 with JJ. One guy calls (this guy is a bit of a station) and V raises to $55 from HJ. I call. Other guys folds.

POT= $131
FLOP: 892

I check. V bets $65. I call.
POT= $251

Turn: 4
I check. V bets $150. I call.

POT= $551
River: J

Hero??? And why?

I don't see why we can't get a check/shove in against QQ+. Checking only misses value from TT (which may not even call a river bet after we take this line). Leading for like $375 looks insanely strong after you just check/call twice, and I think everything that's calling a bet is going to bet for you.

Jdr is on the money here, leading could potentially even make him hero fold better hands he would normally valuebet. Unless you have some crazy dynamic where you've been prone to making weird bluffs in spots like this previously I think we have to just check and sigh the times he finds a check with QQ+.

Online I'd agree.

Live I feel like too many times the guy is gonna be to wary to valuebet his overpair, let alone bluff, on a texture where he can easily see us having all possible sets. I can't imagine your average live reg fold to a 300$ lead here though, even one described as good.

Goodness is always relative in live poker.

Might be wrong though, not my usual turf.

Dude, you already posted this hand in SSNL. Twice you got it wrong, should have posted in small stakes fullring forum to begin with.

It's not even a particularly interesting spot fwiw, no offense.
