Button re-steal ranges on tight table? Button re-steal ranges on tight table?

7-handed FT of $44 ... first is $1600
Blinds 4k/8k - 15 min blinds, slow structure, half the table super deep (100+ blinds).
I'm 2nd lowest in chips.

Hijack (160k) opens to 20k
Hero (button/130k) reshoves with K10.
Villian had AK and I busted.

Not just being results oriented here but the more I think about it the more I don't love this play. What are we getting to raise fold here? The table was playing fairly tight and almost no bluffing going on ... player in question was opening few pots.

What does the hijack here raise that he folds? We're blocking KJ/K10/Q10/J10 all of which would be prime raise/fold hands. He's stacking off with any pair or AQ/AK.

I think it's a better play to avoid K10/Q10-type hands here and instead be re-shoving hands like 89/910 suited. Too fancy? Should we be reshoving MORE OFTEN with a higher range given it's a tight table???

What does everyone think?

If hijack was tight, his opening range is tight given his stack (20BBs).

Were you suited? Even if you were, I think you're beat too many times here given villain's range. Hands he could fold to your shove include AJ, ATs, 66 and under, KQ. Maybe AQ....

I wasn't suited ... agree he could have found a fold with A10, 66/under, KQ. I think he's calling AQ and possibly AJ. So basically the only hands he raise/folds are hands that I block with K10 and a few small pairs. Definitely looking to stop re-jamming with K10 off in that spot in the future.

I used to just re-steal w/ <20 BB with any broadway cards but I think that may have been a little spewy. Learn something new every day!
