anyone to make a small study group? anyone to make a small study group?

I think what I might do is ask for either a graph of the year or last month and use that to try and put people into groups of 4, of a similar standard and ideally playing different sites (rather than post counts).
Any other ideas?

Its a good idea, and i understand that you want to reduced the groups, but the # of post thing will not work for me obv, ive been reading 2p2 since 2 years ago, and only now decided to register, i think a better idea is that player shows their pokertracker general info or something with a minimum of some hands (maybe 100k) at the level 400nl -1knl. I play mostly on Everest 400-1knl. pm

What about making the groups based on sites and games. Like party 3-6, ftp 5-10. Of course there are more players in ftp, stars and party than any other site, but something like this could be usefull.

I started using PT in november so I don't have database from hole year, but I have more than 100k hands. I have pretty big poker office database though.

I really don't want to do a group with other FTP 5/10 regs. The more insight they have into my game/thought process, the less edge I have.

We have 16 already registered..I expect there to be 30+ by the end of the year. My plan is to get graphs and get people of a similar standard into groups of 4, ideally each playing a different site. I understand the concerns of giving your game away to other regs so I will be trying my best to keep same site players apart.

I would be in, but I don't think I will have the time to make videos. Why can't we simply share HHs and analyze each other's game? Video seems to be a cumbersome way of doing the same thing.

We already use 2p2 for that, this is something different

Posting hands, and analyzing a whole session are entirely different. Commentary can be added to a HH too. If some one is multi-tabling, it would be tough to follow the video any way. Video has some benefits, but a simple HH swapping groups would be better (like SSNL did), imo.

I was in the SSNL study group and we actually used videos then too. Anyway it sounds like you haven't done this before but 4 videos is just about the right number to follow. Its really easy to follow the SSNL videos in the SS master sticky no?
I think its a lot more interesting and fun then just going through HH also and often people talk about stuff randomly about the hand that would never make it into written text.

Ok, seems like videos ARE better. I'll try to participate as much as I can.

Thanks for organizing.

I know that I'm going to want in (probably in a few months), but I need to play more and work on my own game before I can devote more time to studying tbh (that isn't actually as ignorant as it sounds). I am a winning midstakes player at party and play 2/4 and 3/6. PM me please.

i'm not sure if video would be my preferred method, maybe you could have one study group for people who would prefer another study method? i'm definitely interested though, and will go with videos if that's the only way it's being done

thanks for doing this

guess i missed out while i was away for break =P. as i obv don't have that many posts and probably dun qualify for this study group, would anyone else be willing to start another, probably smaller study group?

i'm looking for people who genuinely want to get better but just don't have that many hours to spare - be it because of school or work (so that way we can match pace a little better), but still can make a 1-2 hr commitment every week to learning the game through vid exchange or reviewing hand hists. PM me if interested.

Hi all

Great idea - I am in if possible. I mainly play 5/10 at Crypto.

I find that 6 people each making a weekly two hour video is going to be too much though. I would prefer shorter session, smaller groups or taking turns so everybody doesnt make a video every week.

Having to watch and comment on 8 hours of video seems like at least 16 hours of work each week. I dont think that will be sustainable for long, and I would rather have this last than having people burn out on it.

I'll pm you details now, its only 2 hours of committment per week. If anyone in this thread is a winning MSNL player, wants to participate and hasn't got a PM from me, then let me know.

OK everyone should not only have got an intro PM from me, but now a second one requesting evidence of winrates, and which sites(s) you play. I dont want microstakes player getting involved in someones group, so a screenshot or graph is necessary plz.
Let me know if you are not receiving my PM's. Hopefully I'll get all this by the end of the year and we can start shortly after.
