Posts like this make me really hate myself for only switching to cash within the last year or so. The only shorthanded cash I know is post UIEGA. How did I waste three years of my poker playing life playing sngs.

Are there ANY situations today where it's correct to fold AK preflop these days? I imagine there are some, but it's gotta be rare, and i dont think people on this forum do it often, if ever.

Also, what do you think about sometimes just flatting 3 bets w/ AK, like TWP said? Is this viable today? If so, in what situations?

its funny about the games - back when i posted in this thread i was a solid winner at 400nl and probably higher. now i have a real job, 3k in my bank account, and a ton of student loans.

I read the first three posts or so, realised this must be a ninja bump, and looked at post dates. But wow. This reminds me of some ninja bumped threads in STTF back when I used to play SNGs. It was unbelievable how bad the advice was.

in order to make this thread relevant for today's games you'd simply have to substitute AK with AQ (or even AJ vs really loose 3-bettors). i wonder if everyone will auto-get-it-in with AT some day
