Hey guys. I used to be a pretty solid 2-4 , 3-6 reg with about 2.5BB. Experienced lots of swings in past but never anything like what Im having right now. It began lately - large swing , losing about 55 buy-ins over a ~50k hands , running pretty bad below EVexpected etc etc. Not gonna tell you how it happens , about lots of coolers , setups and badbeats , you know , typical stuff. What I have to say is that I lost all my confidence and its getting harder and harder to start a session for me day to day. Still , Im table-selecting pretty good , not tilting , trying to work on my game etc , but this goes on and on and on. Anyway , just looking for some thoughts on that , may be it could help me to keep believing that things can turn around for me or whatever.

50k hands is not a sample at all.
to regain confidence, move down.
50 bi over 50k hands, probably indicates, u suck.

not sure about last point though

this is from ages ago when I played 2/4, but super swongs can definately happen.

IMO something far worse than you possibly imagined will happen to every pro poker player sooner or later. Takes a pretty sick character to be able to pull through and stick it out but all pro's have to be able to do this once in a while.

Although to be fair your graph pretty much says you suck as well. Post a graph with lifetime previous hands included

I use to play 1/2 and 2/4, and now I play 10max and 25max. Things happens, just don't tilt and move down. I wish I did that a few years back. Oh well. But your graph shows that you are bad. Move down stakes and get a coach.

Do you still play DOTA?

OP, games have gotten tougher. It's probably best to move down, or get a coach.

And FWIW, I take anyone in here on Dota4rollz

50 bi in 50k hands is pretty bad. you need to re-evaluate your play

learn to book wins. like everyday give yourself a stoploss (if ur playing 6max well this could be anything from 4-8bi dependant on style/games etc) and when winning give yourself a stopwin (like if ur 4k up say if i drop to 2.5k up ill book today). Works for a few people i know (and me). 50bi in 50k hands means you have some fundamental leaks though, as said elsewhere, games are tougher nowadays, move down, get confidence back and get a coach.

do yourself a favor. Get a quality coach to look over a decent part of your 50k sample. Saves a lot of time and agony of not knowing.

was on 50bi's+ downers several times and im pretty sure i dont suck (all @ 5/10+ w a littile hu involved though). Telling u suck etc (esp when you dont know a thing about his game, except op is on 50bi downer) will just kill the rest of his confidence.

OP, try not to lose your game, thats the most important thing. and yea, $h1t happens.

lol

stop-wins and small stop losses make it super easy to not lose money at poker, and really difficult to win a lot of money

i think i play a higher variance style than most and i never went on more than a 25bi downer. GL op.

Saying that you suck because you hit a 50bi downer is stupid. Be lucky that you didnt have that amount of variance yet.. I mean how often do you guys have a -15 bi day? Like 10x KK vs AA, some set over sets, some flips you loose. Pretty std if you ask me. -50 bi should be very possible for the best players out there.

it doesn't mean you suck, but ffs a 50bi ds is far from "pretty standard"
