400nl weird line oop vs UTG

Hey guys, just moving up to 2/4 - had a weird hand this morning that confused the **** out of me..

Villain kind of seems like a bad agro but I've seen him playing 5/10 so I can assume he's not that bad. Played with him a little at 1/2 - don't have any super solid reads about how he plays in single raised pots but I don't think he gives me a tonne of credit. He has barrelled me in a couple of spots (3b pots) w/ minimal FE so i guess he just thinks I'm super wide all the time??

any idea wtf his range consists of on this turn?

BTN: $167.38
SB: $284.00
Hero (BB): $687.00
UTG: $400.00
MP: $400.00
CO: $709.05

Pre Flop: ($6.00) Hero is BB with XX
UTG raises to $12, 4 folds, Hero calls $8

Flop: ($26.00) 7 6 Q (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets $14.00, Hero raises to $48, UTG calls $34

Turn: ($122.00) T (2 players)
Hero bets $88.00, UTG raises to $340

Your range looks like 77-QQ, AQs He seems like a weak regular that is probably not capable of bluffing too huge. The turn is pretty drawy and it probably scares him so he raises huge. I put villain on KK-AA, QQ. I would stack off if I had a set otherwise I am mucking this turn raise. His line is really strong here especially against your calling range in the BB which he should give you a lot of credit for it.

im not playing 400 (or higher), but im not folding a set here, just because:

from his side, in my opinion its kind a weird how he played it, because i think he overplaying his value hand. But still, i think its just not enough information about him to made a call with say KQ... So my stacking range in this situation will be probably 2ps+. If we made a call w 2pairs, and lost, ok, make a note on him.

Re: 400nl weird line oop vs UTG

some stats ? Do we know if he likes trapping with monster post ?

the spot is pretty sick 'cause oppo is never pushing 1pair hands, there just 1 possibility for 2pair (76, but is often 3b otf). The most probable hand is TT. Oppo is never pushing in bluff/semibluff 'cause he has like 0 FE ott. Dunno, maybe in game I wouldn't be able to fold bottom set, but i think that we are like always dead with 66. 77 is my bottom call range here.

Re: 400nl weird line oop vs UTG

cool...was more after a range and thoughts on why he might ship turn when he's only really gettting called by a set.

given the 13% open UTG I assume they are pretty tight in this situation. shipping AA/KK/AQ seems kinda bad to me in this situation as they will obv only be getting called by better hands.

given I flatted out of the blind vs a 13% UTG open I'm not going to have many suited connectors/other random ****, so if I'm repping a super strong range taking this line I don't understand why they would ever ship turn with any part of their range other than just a bit of a spaz out with a strong preflop hand that doesnt want to fold.

If we have no bluff check-raising range on the flop, then wouldn't it be better to c/c sets on the flop and let him try and barrel us off 88-JJ, maybe even AQ? You said he was barrely.
Or did you check-raise bluff a pocket pair?

yeah i was bluffing in this particular situation - i do like ur line w/ a set though, def good to have that in my c/calling range. any further thoughts on his range? his ship doesn't really make any sense to me...
