This is my first time ever playing a game with the rock and am not a reg at the casino I played out. I had to ask them to explain the rock to me, so I'm I might actually appear like a rec player.

Hero has a stack of $715 (effective) and has a losing image. Just lost 3 pots that I played in a row had a stack of about $1380 before.

Villain seems like a reg at this casino with a very winning image, has a stack of about $1600. He was the one that asked the game become a rock game instead of a mandatory straddle game.

We are playing 6 handed at the moment

--THE HAND--

The rock is in the BB position so the action starts in normal UTG position. UTG folds, Villain opens to $25 in MP, Button calls $25

Hero has A A

Hero is in SB raises to $100, BB folds, Villain calls, Button folds, heads-up..

Flop ($230 in pot after rake)

J J 6

Hero checks, Villain bets $165, Hero shoves $615

Thoughts?

For others like myself before tonight, the rock is essentially a $10 straddle that goes into the pot and whoever wins the pot has the rock. The rock becomes a straddle in whatever position you have it in on the next hand and action starts to the left of the rock no matter what position it is in.... so the rock has position pre-flop.

Squeeze a bit bigger pre, then just cbet flop, dont think you want to get fancy here. As played shove is okay, we are not getting away from AA with essentially 60bb left and he bets pretty big (too big for his range imo). Of course he will have some Jx, but also FDs, hands like TT,99 or bluffs.

I think the size of the 3bet preflop is ok. It could be bigger but 100 is ok. I think bet>check on the flop but as played its ok. You dominate most of his range and it would be a tight fold on this board imo.

well I dont think I'm ever actually folding this board... the question is would your rather bet flop then jam turn, or check-raise all in on the flop.

Why not just flat flop and play the rest of the hand like you have two overcards (except not folding anywhere ofc)
