This is the game closest to me and also fairly affordable for me to play. I've been trying to play around 4-5 hours a day after work to build a bankroll but its going quite horribly.
Often times it will be a combination of running+playing bad. I can't remember when my last pocket KK or AA were winning -_-.

I try to play a decent range of hands..., get caught bluffing in big pots etc and just ruined.

I'm wondering if I wanted to be profitable playing should I just play super tight and only the most premium hands?

Bigd23.

What works for me is to take a couple days off. Enough days as it takes.

Than go back to your local card room. I keep a list of thinks to remember:

1. Play in Position, unless premium hands
2. Fold trap hands to raise
3. Leave after double up - just trying to get mojo back
4. If table is tough or tight, table change or come back another day

It's hard getting up and leaving when you double up...but it's good practice and good mojo after a previous nights bad beat or loss.

With la rake $100 max game is going to be very difficult to beat. If you really want to be profitable I'd say try moving to the next level. If you're just trying to blow a hundred bucks while having a good time then don't worry so much about being profitable.

In shallow stack and high rake games you really need to be crushing to win longterm. Make sure you are bumhunting and game selecting very hard. Pots need to be going 6 ways to the flop regularly and people paying off bets with really weak hands. If you just stay tight, value bet big and never bluff you should be a winner in weak live $1/2 games. That is really all it takes
