Hi guys. I used to be a mid to high stakes lhe reg and posted in those forums before online and live lhe died. After a layoff of a few years I decided to finally learn big bet poker. So far I have had good results in the high rake South Florida 2/5 games, but I figured I would post some hands I played today and get some feedback.

This game is 9 handed with a lot of weak tight players who play fit or fold postflop. I have taken to exploiting this trend by bluffing at a very high frequency. These players have sizing tells and several other exploitable leaks. This game is also one of the few games in South FL that has a 200bb rather than 100bb cap. On to the hand:

Villain in this hand is a middle aged, well spoken Israeli. He is self taught but is generally less exploitable than the majority of the opposition. He is loose pf and aggro post. He is not super spewy but is capable of running multi street bluffs when he is deep. Effective stacks in this hand are around $700 and villain barely has me covered.

Villain straddles and its folded to hero UTG with AQ. i raise to 30 (could prob raise a bit more as villain will call very loose here). Folded to villain and he calls. Flop: Q85. I bet 40 and villain raises to 145? How do we proceed here?

hi,
im fairly knew to poker so my input probably isn't the most accurate but ill give it to you anyway.
I would call and see what the turn brings. as of right now with the action being as it was. I probably put him on some kind of combo draw like 67/j10/j9 of hearts.maybe he got lucky and hit two pair.
check call turn if it isn't a heart, not sure what'd I do on the river. what were the next two cards?

You are correct. I am in the middle of a 6 bi downer and I posted this when I was tired and probably tilted. I butchered this hand by shoving over his raise and he quickly called with q8. Call and play turns is clearly best. i would normally take offense to your curt response but it was actually helpful in showing me how bad I have been playing lately.
