i heard recently that they might be switching to rake per hand at levels above 1/2 (which has no time charge anymore) but i thought 10/20 was the same as 5/10 and just had 6$ half hour time charge, no?

you tip when they sit you down, when you leave, when you are smoking a cigarette with them, when you win a massive pot, or you can say something like 'hey heres my room number, if you see any short handed high stakes NL games with a huge whale, call my room, i'll take care of you' then give him $20.

then you are their buddy and they talk to you and stop by throughout the shift to see how you are doing. then obviously when things come up where you need them to pull for you....they are more likely to do so.

fwiw i've never played at foxwoods but this is how it works in California. i'd imagine its the same in nearly every poker room.

OP

Being that your sole source of income comes from poker this really sucks and I would push this hard.

I have 2 words for you ...

GAMING COMMISSION

I'm not sure how things work there but I am a specialist at always taking things to HIGHER levels, especially with some piss ass 40k a year Security person (go OVER their head).

The squeaky wheel gets the oil.

5/10nl is my main game. I don't play 10/20nl very often. I also haven't been running very well lately so I wanted to reduce my variance in this spot.

Security told me he was getting banned also although I can't verify that. Nothing happened to Frankie Flowers.

Mohegan only gets 2/5nl running regularly. They have 5/10nl only occasionally. Most of the action is at FW. It's unfortunate because Mohegan's poker room is superior to FW's in every respect: floor, dealers, room layout, casino itself, amenities, etc. Before Mohegan opened several months ago, everybody talked about fleeing foxwoods asap. Then 2 days later, everybody was back at the woods. Nobody gave it a chance.

With the floor right there overseeing the whole process and not saying otherwise, there was no reason to think I couldn't transfer the chips. I obviously should have covered every base though.

I'll post more detail after this thread has run it's course. It was a common form of collusion though: working together to win pots w/o showdown and chopping the money up between hands (or after as well).

fwiw, the my opponent's name who backed out of playing me the $2000 after agreeing to the equity chop is Mike Dentale. He's a regular player at Borgata in A.C.

cmon HEK, you're friggin' _Noreaster right?

just play 1/2 online, its not like you couldnt get staked/coached if you were lifenitty enough about the situation.

that said, I am very sorry about your situation. I have never been to FW and wasnt intending on it, but with this situation I am now 100% certain I will never go there.

good luck with your future endeavors.

Crazy. Messed up. Hope it works out.

You answered some of dlp's questions and I was wondering the same thing.

Why did you tell your opponent they allow equity chops? Was the floor wrong, or were you saying you knew FW routinely allows players to make side deals away from the table?

Have you previously seen stacks given back to the losing player there in a hand done without business? Because otherwise I don't understand why someone like yourself would think it's okay.

Playing poker with unknowns and agreeing to settle up away from the table is like what Pacino told Penn in Carlito's Way. You aint a lawyer no more. Now you a gangster.

My own experience with FW floor. I'm in a 5-10NL must move. Floor walks over to our table to move someone and asks for Joe Blow. He's told it's the empty seat with stacks. Floor then asks for the next guy. Guy raises his hand. Floor then asks him what's the rule, who goes, him or the other guy?

Someone bails out the clueless floor and tells him to rack the empty seat and move him.

I'm guessing the floor was grabbed from valet parking, put in a red jacket, stuck a pen in his pocket and told you're the boss.

man merry fkn christmas... that really sucks; sorry OP..

you should maybe consider putting together a web-based list of HSNL players and signatures that says they will halt their play at foxwoods unless you are reinstated, I'm sure you could plenty of signatures

you know that this all boils down to the ****ing surveilance people who cant understand poker. surveilance is why this **** happens; it's why dealers first started tapping tokes, and it's why only a really good room will let you run it twice and chop it. god indian casinos are so far behind the times its scary.

.

this is kinda what I meant by my post, regardless of how you've done recently, I think people who have played with you in the past see you as someone who could make more online than playing 5/10 live.

1) You should definitely get a lawyer and write a letter to Foxwoods
2) I don't think you're actually allowed to tip the floor (or you weren't back when I was playing there), so a lot of the "get some juice there" arguments are kind of irrelevant (i think)

Damn man sorry to hear about this, Foxwoods really does suck. FWIW I have done the same type of equity chop with a FW regular who told me that this was allowed. He ended up winning the pot and picked the chips up off of his stack to give to me, although he made sure that we were away from the table before handing them over. It seemed weird to me that he was allowed to take chips off of his stack, but I guess this is somewhat commonplace at FW?

I'm also definitely interested in hearing the Frankie Flowers story at some point

neither of these are winning arguments. they both come from criminal procedure which has nothing to do with this.

op had a valid contract (offer+acceptance+consideration). any contracts lawyer can tell you in 30 min how to get a quick summary judgment with a couple of court docs.

as far as being reinstated, foxwoods can ban whoever they want. the court can't help you there.
