Revolution Gaming Network - $0.04 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

UTG: 69.5 BB (VPIP: 56.10, PFR: 0.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 778)
Hero (MP): 99.75 BB
CO: 130.25 BB (VPIP: 22.91, PFR: 19.03, 3Bet Preflop: 5.08, Hands: 232)
BTN: 113 BB (VPIP: 24.72, PFR: 16.09, 3Bet Preflop: 4.50, Hands: 1,935)
SB: 202 BB (VPIP: 20.24, PFR: 17.26, 3Bet Preflop: 8.33, Hands: 168)
BB: 53 BB (VPIP: 57.14, PFR: 19.05, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 23)

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has K K

UTG calls 1 BB, Hero raises to 3.5 BB, fold, fold, SB calls 3 BB, fold, UTG calls 2.5 BB

Flop: (11.5 BB, 3 players) A A 8
SB checks, UTG checks, Hero checks

Turn: (11.5 BB, 3 players) 3
SB bets 7.75 BB, fold, Hero calls 7.75 BB

River: (27 BB, 2 players) A
SB bets 18 BB, Hero raises to 63 BB, SB raises to 139.5 BB

Do you make the fold or find the all in call in this spot? The raise on the river by my part was to get value from any pocket pairs, any sets (8s or 3s) and win the pot without showing against the weaker hands that missed like KQ, JT, etc.

thanks in advanced and ill post what I did after a few responses

I'm not sure if I'm raising river for value here. I mean, there's 3 As on the board but SB still has the other in a chunk of his range, and the hands you're looking to extract value from won't call often enough. Maybe I'm wrong but seems a bit thin for me.

Can't imagine SB taking this line much with JJ/QQ, and TT/99 only slightly more than that. I don't think you need to raise that big OTR either.

I agree that I don't know if anything worse is calling. 99-QQ probably 3bet preflop. Not sure an 8 leads out on the turn.

First of all dont raise river, decide between call-fold. And I believe fold is not bad esp when it was 3way otf.

He had A10, for the nuts over second nuts. If this was at my local casino we would have split a bad beat jackpot of over 60k. I'm not super disappointed in making the call here since our hand was as strong as it was. At the micros on this particular site, the players are either good regs or super donks. This guy was #2 who just happened to hit the dream hand. Everything else was calling worse or folding worse so one way or another I would not have to show my hand and I would scoop the pot regardless. However, he makes the call and inevitably run into quads. Not sure how many times this situation comes up, but I will definitely be check/calling the river in the future instead of shipping off

You'd have won the badbeat jackpot if you'd flat called river instead of raising though. Plus you'd have an extra stack to go with your 60k.

You know not all "aces full of kings" are equal? This seems like an easy fold but the river raise is bad as has been pointed out a few times. This is definitely not a bad beat.
