re: Why was Ostensibly Thremp banned? and then we discuss linguistics

His "style" is what got him banned, of course he was going to have to change that if he wanted to post on the site. That's like the whole damn point.

Well see that's wrong because

and his posting style was the same, just toned down. He wasn't being an overt ass to people this time.

But yeah allow the guy to return but don't give him his name back. That'll show him.
lol this is a terrible argument. he ****ing named his new account thremp after being told not to out himself. that's about as far as you can go in the opposite direction of what he was supposed to do.

if other people eventually figured it out without his help, that would obviously not be on him.

Pretty much or you end up with someone refusing to follow some pretty simple rules.

Shark,

I was saying his style got him banned the first time.

Being Thremp got him banned the second, the conditions under which he was allowed back (which I admit is weird but whatever) were ostensibly "don't be Thremp".

Fair enough, I know I'm pissing into the wind anyway, but that's what this forum is for

People are asking for *Thremp* back, so answering "He can come back as long as he's not recognizable as Thremp" is not really helpful at all, nor is copping an attitude about it.

I feel like Thremp would feel right at home in this discussion.

I'd've is a valid contraction, as are she'd've, it'd, should've, there're, who're, and would've. But you're cautioned against using them outside of dialogue and quotations.

For professional use I wouldn't touch them but forums, hey. YMMV if you're not in the US.

Are they? Well, I think what those people can take out of this thread is they can't have him back. What they could've had was a toned down Thremp that didn't choose a screen name that told everyone who he was. Whether they can have that any more, IDK.

Yeah not arguing that. If I recall he got gacked because he took his schtick into forums where it wasn't at all welcome. Which is a common theme here in ATF, it seems.

I understand the sentiment of wanting Thremp back, though. I enjoyed his posts.
