In fact it pops up in ATF on occasion too. Did this show up in a movie or something lately?
Summed up my thoughts pretty well. Trots out that old chestnut as if it was something new and insightful to be pondered on, and as you alluded to, it's been done a few times in ATF in the last couple of months.

I think it goes without saying you fall into the "wouldn't trust him to babysit my goldfish" camp

I can understand why you have such difficulty responding to criticism of that post of yours. But I'm glad to hear that you've been able to determine my fitness for looking after your goldfish based on one post - I'll try to get over it.

Reason: And apparently it doesn't go without saying.
Re: When did mocking handicapped children become acceptable?
Whoever said (probably OP) that parents having a downs child would be offended by seeing this pic
What the ****
Of course it's hard to deal with bringing up a kid like that. What do you think, kids are brutal and make fun of them all the time. The kid is likely to be a laughing stock in some situations, it's inevitable. Brothers and sisters as well as parents are gonna hear all the time that they have a retarded sibling, who is frequently called names, "that retard brother of yours", more harsh stuff etc whatever. Some parents probably don't even want their kids near someone with downs syndrome. Sometimes close family members will be ashamed of being related to them. That is the reality the parents deal with. This is the stuff that hurts. Not some random heavy metal reference on the internet. While downs people usually enjoy music, it's usually no where near headbanging stuff which is why it's funny to some. If I had made this meme (which I wouldn't BTW), I'd definitely throw on some corpse paint as well and more extreme band

First they came for the communists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.
Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me.
I like that when you look at the Wikipedia page on this poem, a related article is 'Anti-intellectualism'.

Because he's not stupid.
I have two thirty year old cousin's with learning disabilities and it would crush them if you called them retarded so I don't think you can host one person up as an example.
I don't have a problem with the term in everyday use but Jah's speech was lol hypocritical.
Re: When did mocking handicapped children become acceptable?
I think most of the posters in this thread, including Boba Fett, realize they are wrong. That is why most of the focus is on attacking the OP himself or attacking my use of a poem instead of actually addressing the topic itself.
This actually gives me a little hope. Maybe the parents of most of the 2+2 posters were only partial failures, and not total failures, after all.

Yes, more personal attacks, less substance. That'll show people you're right. Especially when you make complaints against personal attacks in the very same post.

Well, I stand corrected. You have certainly convinced me with your devastating analysis and sharp contributions to this thread.

Reason: Maybe not. jdock may not be bright, but he can lift heavy weights.

Please point out what I was wrong about, or where I've attacked the OP.
Pretty sad that you don't post in the thread for 12 days after your oh-so-clever "wouldn't trust him to babysit my goldfish" comment, and then return with this. Perhaps in the future you should reread threads before posting after long absences; might help you avoid looking silly.
Also, LOL @ you commenting on "attacking" given your last couple of posts.
