Re: "What to do if you've been banned" sticky - Discussion thread
A person should have the good common sense to understand that you don't register on a forum and immediately start posting links to ebay auctions, let alone jump into a thread where a forum reg is trying to sell something and post links to ebay auctions. Then after being deleted he does it again and starts crying? Dumbass.

You could not have summarized the situation more poorly. That isn't even slightly close to an accurate description. Evidently the bolded is a little hypocritical.
Edit: I've also been here since 2007.

And yet you still can't function on something as simple as an internet forum without being a little **** all the time. Good luck with this and your next few accounts.

Sounds reasonable, although the ban was overturned so I guess it's all relative.

You really bumped a 4 1/2 month old thread because you were concerned that a poster who has been banned multiple times might have been trolled?

Trolling is usually more subtle. That was blatant smack down.

Re: "What to do if you've been banned" sticky - Discussion thread
What to Do? Hey guys,(hope this is right place to ask this sort of thing, if not simply understand its a mistake and not ban me lol. Also keep in mind, i am not fighting or yelling at you guys here and not questioning it to the world but just explaining the situation and looking for answers.....OK now... over the yrs i have been banned i think once or twice and i dealt with it fine and served it and continued. But just this last week, i was banned for a very very unfair reason i believe, and the moderator didn't know the full story imo and i served my ban and now i am back and just want to ask questions such as: Before a mod bans me, why cant they contact me and get my side of the story before they go ahead and ban away?(in this case, i had someone even contact the mod who banned me and tell him i gave the $$ to the person, and the ban wasnt reversed still) while im banned can i make a new account to come back and try to plead my case and not be penalised? I did not do this because i was worried of what the outcome will be. Also, i dont know if i should go into detail here as to why i was banned but I'm happy to do that in a pm or on here with any mod if neccesary. Also, something that really boggles my mind is that i wrote to support on 2+2 from my email and never gotten a response... thats pretty crazy imo

Re: "What to do if you've been banned" sticky - Discussion thread
It seems that too many people get permanent banned for trivial reasons on these forums.

Re: "What to do if you've been banned" sticky - Discussion thread
So you tracked down a thread where the sticky about what to do if you've been been banned is discussed, but didn't bother to read the sticky itself?
Sigh.
BTW, this would be a good thread to read the first post in as well:

Re: "What to do if you've been banned" sticky - Discussion thread
Thanks for bumping this thread, as I would like to discuss the "What to do if you've been banned" sticky.
Why is all this junk still in it.

3) If you really feel your ban is totally unfair, you should contact:
a - The mod who banned you. State your case, politely, via PM, and there's a chance your ban will be reversed or shortened. [Edit/MH: Owing to recent PM-activation changes, you will have to e-mail Mat Sklansky at mat@twoplustwo.com and ask him to forward your e-mail to the relevant mod.]
b - Another mod of the forum you were banned in. Obviously this isn't always possible, as some forums have only one mod, but if it's the case that the mod who banned you is busy, you can try to get the attention of another mod of that forum.
c - A mod who is familiar with you as a poster. Say you get banned for a week for posting in BBV, but you're normally a solid strategy poster in MSNL. It's very possible one of the MSNL mods can help you broker a deal with the mod who banned you.
d - In rare circumstances you should contact an admin. Mat Sklansky: mat@twoplustwo.com or Ryan Beal. I say rare since to get to (d) here, some time has to have passed while you do (a), (b), and (c), and the ban was temporary, so it's probably over before you can get to (d). The admins are busy too, so be patient with them, but they do read their messages.
If you are permanently banned:
First and foremost, steps (a) - (d) above still apply. These are still you best options for having your side of the story heard and replied to in a polite way.

I know citanul is legend and all that, but still, having this wall of text seems ridiculous when most of it no longer applies and it can all be covered by MH's elegant

I like citanul's post as much as the next guy, but it's time to let this one go. Really, are we still supposed to PM Ryan Beal to ask to be reinstated?
