Thanks! Howard (not my real name), decided to get modern at the age of 53 when he bought his first computer. Now, at 61, he's stuck at forum level and has no interest in that FB or Twitter thing.

Like I said, I'm open to it being on my end, but only because in past years the forums would be peppered with *******s that can't ask nicely why the forums are slow. If they're certain this must be some problem on my end, then they can move this to CTH.

The past few days the time it takes to load 2+2 is tilting me extremely hard.

When trying to open the site using chrome or firefox it takes ages to get a response and for the page to load. Disabled all my extensions etc but this makes no difference.

Is this a widespread problem? This only happens on this site for me :/

forumserver.twoplustwo.com loads like 2-3 seconds slower than twoplustwo.com

sometimes it takes me 10-15 seconds to load the forums over the past couple of days. When I tried to start this thread it took about 20 seconds from when I clicked the "new thread" button for anything to happen.

This still seems to be happening.

Probably one page view in 20. The other 19 appear instantly and the slow one takes several seconds and you can see (if your browser displays the information) each piece of screen furniture being picked up.

It's a very unusual effect. Mostly if a site is slow there is just a single hiatus. With this the site keeps responding but each element has a very small delay which adds up to a long page load.
