If we could have anything on the forums, I think temp bans in individual forums would be a good idea.

Getting rid of infractions and only allowing warnings or "message from moderators" in place of infractions and also having some sort of "if temp banned in 2-3 forums at once, user is temp banned from the whole site" would probably better fit the solutions to problems that often face moderators.

In any case, others summed it up well, there are limitations to even the top forum softwares, and there is a slight "if they got banned in one forum they are a problem" truth to it, but I think moderation and forum styles and behavior varies enough to justify temp banning in single forums being brought on if it were feasible.

But it doesn't seem to be, so file it under ideas for a future date.
