... and then have a link to this thread..... where you post about it?

Rapini I appreciate your response although I obviously disagree with the decision.
What post was I infracted for which ultimately led to my banning? If it is the post which I believe that it is, I was defending myself against a malicious attack on my character which was not deleted?
I do not believe that any user should be banned for infractions that consist largely of "no-content posts", that seems illogical to me, particular if it is a user that makes positive contributions to the forum.
I am not someone who comes to this forum simply to blow off steam or troll, I am a player that has been a contributing member of the community for the better part of five years now, and I think that a permanent ban in this situation is punitive and unnecessary and would like an opportunity to state my case to someone who might consider overturning this, but I am having a hard time of it due to the account locking mechanism which has been placed on me.
Is there anyone who can advise me here?

Not really, because the PM restrictions didn't exist when that sticky was created - now the first 3 suggestions of what to do when you've been banned are no longer feasible. The sticky needs some editing.

That was in response to an interesting OP addressing an unusual issue posted by a well-respected B&M reg who is also a dealer or floor manager (I forget which) in Macau.

The post to which you refer, in which you managed to attack another positively-contributing member of B&M, remains intact because I failed to delete the first paragraph of it as trolling (if I even had seen it before).

The first post there was obviously supposed to be funny and was definitely in the spirit of the thread. It was an absurd situation that really had no definitive answers, one of the lose-lose types that tend to spawn more absurd than useful answers in B&M, and because many of the answers were in such a manner I hardly think that mine is out of line or place there. I was making a joke that was supposed to play upon the expect responses such as the one that quoted mine in a "FYP" reply later on in the thread, creating irony before it arrived.

The second one you are also complete misinterpreting by taking out of context. I did not make an analogy to Hitler I was making an allusion to godwin's law by saying that his sort of "holier-than-thou" post to which I was responding in which he attacked me was the sort of internet, superior morality with little substance argument which made theorems like godwins law work. Had you read my post this should have been made clear. The guy who I was responding breached forum etiquette greatly by selecting parts of my post in a quote without noting that he was leaving out others (it didn't look like he was the way he quoted it) and twisted the intentions of my post referring to me ultimately in the terms "... you are a morally selective scumbag." I was defending ironically to a rather brutal attack on my character.

I'm having a hard time believing that you had infracted me for the first one, I obviously disagree with your modding style infracting posts like that for "no-content" but as I have no authority to determine who mods a forum I am willing to give up my ability to post in that sub-forum which I think I help with useful answers quite frequently to retain my ability to contribute elsewhere on this forum.

I don't agree with what certainly feels like a vendetta against me but may in fact be an overbearing moderating style, singlehandedly running me out of a forum which I have actively been a part of for nearly 5 years. I would like an impartial third party to evaluate my situation as there appears to be no argument that I can make here which you would even consider.

I'd ban you for poor paragraph spacing. I really don't care one way or the other about everything else.

WRR1986, this seems like a contradiction... well, maybe not. Still, if someone (I don't know your situation) is being repeatedly warned to dial back certain actions, and they don't..... then the penalties could be appropriate.

3) If you feel your ban is unfair, you should contact:

a - The mod who banned you. State your case, politely, via PM, and there's a chance your ban will be reversed or shortened.

b - Another mod of the forum you were banned in. Obviously this isn't always possible, as some forums have only one mod, but if it's the case that the mod who banned you is busy, you can try to get the attention of another mod of that forum.

I've been temp banned (SlickHook) and was just trying to get in touch with someone to explain what happened.
