Well, I did this back in the day for a week iirc. It was pretty helpful. I used a gimmick to PM some people, I think, but basically avoided 2+2 during my ban. But I could never lurk here. If I'm not posting, I don't know what the point of me being here is. (In before jokes "So what is the point of you being here?".) I had some srs bizness stuff to work out, and losing the distraction of 2+2 forced me to think about it and not put it off while I made an MSPaint to post or something. So it worked for me.

I don't use 2p2 as much as you guys, but my week ban was ultra-productive. It reminds me of the one semester in college I took Adderall--the only semester I got all As. The week I was banned, was like that, I was ultra-productive at work, in a general better mood, and gave my girl more sexy-time. So getting banned from 2p2 was the equiv. to taking a handful of amphetamines.
