As for atheism - I used to believe in that many, many, years ago. Then came to realize that it is as much of a belief system as any theistic beliefs are. Thus, I've been agnostic ever since. (Not in the old, Christian, Agnostic sense - but in the modern, I-don't-know-if-god(s)-exist one.)

You have to understand that RGT was started to get all religious discussions removed from SMP. The atheists in RGT aren't exactly invading a religious space - RGT only exists because theists had been posting a lot in a place that wasn't really suited for it. A lot of the atheists who would engage with them in SMP followed them over to RGT.

This is one of the top 8 dumbest things I've ever read on this site. Your other posts in this thread aren't that much better.

Atheism is obviously a meaningful topic in any forum that discusses religion and the mods should embrace that discussion.

Casinos really exist - by any meaningful definition. We enter them, we play in them. Some of us work in them. Their existence is not rationally debatable.

The existence of deity(s) is.

And if I'm correct that "SMP" stands for "Science, Math, and Philosophy" then I think having a seperate religion forum is a good idea.

Denying in RGT is ok. You could deny 9999 religions and gods, as long as you believe in at least one. If you don't believe even in that single one, SMP is a better place.

Atheism is NOT a religion. It is not an anti religion. It is the absence of belief in gods. Having a belief in religion requires a leap of faith.

Yes the B&M was more of a joke to point out the insanity of arguing with somebody which (or none) of the invisible sky wizards actually exist.

It's not as though that's all there is to discuss. I almost never engage in such discussions - most of my posting tends to be about public policy issues and certain fairly abstract philosophical considerations divorced from the truth or falsehood of any given religious claim.

I'd disagree with that, but the funny thing is that Jibninjas actually has actually tried to argue (and started threads?) arguing exactly the above, that atheism is a religion.

Ok, wasn't a thread that Jib started, but he did say this in it: "The "new atheism" seems to have at least 3 of the 4 listed there AIF. So will you agree now that it should be considered a religion? " and in a few other places argued for it.

to be clear, this isn't an attack on Jibs. It's just saying that the (a) mod of RGT thinks atheism is a religion, so therefore it seems to follow that atheism has a place in RGT just as much as any other religion (according to the mod)

wat. I am not *that* bad, how can I seriously be exiled with all the nonsense that is allowed in there? I meant that my tone and style were douche-y. Again, sorry I can not contribute the way the established regulars do (i.e. massive blocks of text where they accommodate the tangents the theists get onto in order to keep them interested in the conversation) but holy **** I am trying. If not being as smart or good as AIF and OrP was cause for being exiled from RGT then there would be like 3 posters in there.

Whatever, you all win. I will exile myself to the Wrestlemania thread and be done with it. I might as well just go full Jibninjas and request the thread be locked. He said he was going to respond but I really don't care what he says at all and it's not like he would ever be unmodded. Plus I would just view it as him trolling or harassing me at that point (lol).
