So, yeah. I wasnt going to chime in, but TL.

I honestly dont care about miss pog at all. But the strongest opponents of it are a group of intolerant politically correct bullies that have gone out of their way to run people off that dont have their world view. So the push for banning miss pog wasnt exactly pulling me in.

However.... TL does it for me. She was one of the greatest people to ever set foot in pog and I respect her opinion. I view her as a level setter in this matter.

So, yeah. Thats my two cents. Doubt I go back there, though. Its not a nice place.

My preference as a poster would be to discontinue Miss POG. As a mod, who knows. A couple of people have supported a compromise in which there would be a Tournament of Champions and then be done with it. That seems as reasonable a solution as any. If TL hadn't posted then I wouldn't know what to do, but I think that it was enough to push things over the edge as far as taking action. That said, it would still be best for a clear majority to emerge on one side of the issue, and if the discussion is reopened in POG then her post might have that effect.

Sounds like "it" goes well beyond the appropriateness of a new Miss POG thread (not that discussing that topic is unimportant). Sounds like there are moderation and moderator issues. And, relatedly, the overall civility of the forum's discourse.

I personally do not like Monkey, he has said a lot of mean things about me, but i think he has been able to moderate the most difficult thread in POG (Politics) way better than any of the other politic mods i've dealt with. Able to have a civil discussion in one of the most sensitive topics

I think if anything he should have banned more people in the MS pog thread for personal insults

LenC comment on 72off post attacking women on aging poorly and men aging well, directed at a poster, was so obviously sexist and a personal insult

it is pretty crazy that in that context lenc is trying to play that post off as a "joke"

that was such an easy ban

Everyone doesn't need to "win". This is a "zero-sum game", frankly. (It wasn't meant to be, but its turned into that..) Keep Miss Pog or don't. It has nothing to do with MB. Those outcomes should not be tied together.

I am actually a bit unhappy this thread exists, and I know I have been posting in it. Miss POG will obviously continue (or die out) unless and until a joint mod statement is made.

The important thing is that when you see mods going at each other in POG threads, it means that something is very wrong and they need to talk it out in private like the adults they are. Trying to solve that dispute in public actually diminishes the chance it gets solved in private. There is a reason the Ms POG discussion thread desperately needed to be locked. I hope this thread follows suit.

Then lock the Miss Pog contest threads too while its being sorted out. Its completely dishonest to continue to request to close the discussion threads while keeping the contest threads running. TimeLady couldn't even make her post in the proper thread because it was locked. Meanwhile, voting is open on Group A hot girls.

To be honest, my impression has been that certain people have an agenda of controlling the outcome of this all via surreptitious means, or if victory seems fleeting, to take a piece of flesh with you. That piece of flesh obviously being MB, since he was the one who most openly supported the female posters who wanted this.

You said the Miss Pog thread was locked and this one should follow suit because the mods are fighting. I think locking them is just a means to shut down a conversation some people don't like having, and it has nothing to do with the mods.

The mods fighting is not the issue here. Its Miss Pog.
