I'd hoped not to post again in the thread, but just to clarify your misstatement Crossnerd, I was not referring to the times prior to this incident that you had told users of 2p2 to kill themselves, I was referring to you very seriously telling metsandfinsfan to kill himself a year or two ago. Were that a one-off, I wouldn't have mentioned it, people say mean stuff in the heat of the moment. Were it part of a pattern of vicious behavior that you're trying to whitewash, I think it bears pointing out. You're not a teenager CN, you're a middle aged woman. Let's go ahead and up the maturity level, and drop the schtick.

Someone made a great comment yesterday that people from POG carry werewolf over into drama threads and over-analyze and debate everything to the point it almost becomes a game to them.

Trying to twist words, change interpretations of history, and deceive others are tools to win the underlying games taking place in the thread. These games include popular opinion, personal reputation, group inclusiveness, and more.

As the drama threads go on the original discussion point becomes moot and these mini games take over throughout different points to feed into the posters' egos and satisfy their current objective.

He questioned if it was a type of sickness.

so is this the "attack monkeybanana thread" or "attack crossnerd thread" or maybe it's just "attack whoever thread"?

i was personally attacked in this thread pretty viciously(though hilariously). but it seems like crossnerd gets it the worst, and in every thread.

we were supposed to be discussing miss pog. some people got one day bans for personal attacks instead of discussing miss pog. if i had personally attacked someone in a thread where the op says "if you personally attack someone you will be banned" i would have expected to be banned.


i really didn't want to post in this thread because i hate this thread. but just... i wish everyone would stop with the personal attacks. at least try to keep it just about the modding decisions(which were fine)

I said that I thought that he mishandled the situation. I do not think that he has the right temperament or the right skills to be a moderator.

This seems to be true of some people who play ww and of some people who don't play ww.

I made some posts in that thread that were more combative than I would have liked, which I blame on having had approx 7 hours of sleep the 2 nights previous

But the worst part of that thread is it almost made me post in the politics thread for the first time ever, and I'm glad I avoided doing that in the end

7 hours is a pretty good night's sleep for the vast majority of healthy people.

All along I thought they were all about fun and games, but it turns out these POGgers are serious people. Very serious people. Who knew?

From a forum moderation standpoint, it should be blatantly obvious that a moderator should never ever make moderating decisions that aren't completely blindingly obvious on subjects that they are emotionally involved in. That should be unacceptable, it should be strongly discouraged, and it's an abuse of power that eliminates any credibility the moderator might otherwise have had.

At least Richard Nixon had enough class to resign when it was clear that time had come.
