Re: POG is not Politics - Elliot must go!
The idea that someone should get some sort of pass because they are modding a game is ****ing dumb.

Larry, I don't want to start a war with you, but his is beneath you.
I can't put enough s on this page to express my support for elliot.

No, that could not possibly have been the point. The thread in question was already locked when the ban happened.
I hate myself for posting ITT.
Elliot: thanks for modding POG when we needed you. Now come play some games.

You can't fault a person for breaking a "rule" that is not documented in the 2p2 TOS, the forum stickies, the thread itself, or anywhere else at all.

If it's not documented how does "everyone" know it's a rule?

If the rule wasn't documented then yeah- that's terrible.
/me now scurries to see if all the rules we believe exist in OOT are documented.

I missed this thread until now, and apparently it was moot even before it started. But because this may be seen as the record of the end of Elliot's stint as a POG mod, I want my say:
OP, and the other detractors, were completely wrong in making this thread and in attacking Elliot. Besides being the nicest guy I know (not hyperbole - he literally is, though I know a few women who rival him), he was an effective mod whose efforts benefited POG.
The incident that sparked this wasn't pretty and may have been a mistake (though I love how OP left out the fact that the conduct that led to the bans was an established, albeit unpopular, rule for which people had been temp-banned before), but that was one incident. The rest of his tenure, he just helped. He modded when necessary. He was one of the good things about POG.
This thread, and the anti-Elliot campaign, stunk, and I hope it is all remembered that way.

I am glad that I was not in the pub during this anti-Elliot crap. He is an awesome human being IRL(more than can be said about some other people on PoG).
Thank you for being one of our supreme overlords.

No, that was the point. If it is not possible to delete posts in a locked thread I didn't know that -- I thought that they *had* deleted those posts after the thread was locked.
And I'll be around in games; see you there.
