Recently we had a shakeup in POG, it was decided that since there was not a single active mod in POG other than Elliot and the occassional Gtpitch (both of whom have more responsibilities moderating other forums) we would be given 2 mods from within the active forum posters. Timelady and Well Named both became new mods, and have done a great job. They are active members who nearly everyone that has ever played a game in POG knows, and generally they have received very high satisfaction.
This new assignment of mods gave us 2 fairly active and 2 super active mods in POG.
ElliotR is one of the fairly active mods.
His style of moderation is completely different than the other 3 mods on POG, and he has recently been taking a stance that it is his responsibility to Infract/Ban/ and worst of all outright delete posts at an incredible rate. While having standards is understandable, he has no discernible consistency. He plays favorites with posters he likes, and regularly bans and deletes posts of posters he does not like. If you were to look at the content in a group of border-line or potentially infractable posts, it would be completely impossible to tell them apart and the consequences, other than who posted it. Most all of his actions are also coming in NC/LC threads where there are 3 other mods from POG and mods from other forums present, who all happen to moderate the thread way way differently.
He is the most biased mod that there is on POG, he is inconsistent and he often carries a holier than thou approach to modding (never leaving messages, never explaining decisions).
It is time he left POG and concentrated on Politics, we know you guys love him and would widely encourage more of his attention
As an example, he decided today to ban someone for deleting their own posts in a LC thread. That individual is currently modding an 80 person WW game that they designed and this could severely impact the game. An 80 player game is a serious amount of time that someone is dedicating to the enjoyment of others, and that person is now banned for deleting their own posts in a LC thread.
Time for ElliotR to no longer mod POG.
