Hard for me to question ur opinion as I dont know all the specifics you do but it seems silly to have a back and forth beef and then have the mod whip out the mod powers due to frustration/anger/Im losing this exchange etc....

Not saying this mod was doing that but I can see OP's point that the mod could have stepped away himself/herself instead of escalating things and then infracting, no?

Cool. And as usual, I purposely posted way too many words so that I don't have to read how morons consider it.

That is the heart of the question. As in "Deep in the heart of ..." the question.

Under those circumstances, is it not appropriate to ask the poster (now wearing the mod had) to clarify the rule on "trolling" or to direct me to the authority? I think it is; others may disagree.
No, under those circumstances it is appropriate to stfu and not send him any more pm's.

I did not send ANY PM's. Not once. I merely replied to his.

I was not bothered by his PM's (after his initial one). In fact, I quite enjoyed the exchange. I figured he must have too because he sent about 20 PM's ... and I dutifully replied to each one.

You may also be missing a broader point: He claimed he had authority to infract me for trolling in those circumstances, and that there was ample precedent for such action. Yet, he refused to provide me the source of that precedent (and I had searched the forums on it) and he refused to explain how replying to a PM constitutes "trolling."

Hell, give me more infraction points. I don't care. I am not taking issue with that. I want to know about the policy. That is what this thread is for, no? I am not here to make this a personal issue.

Others want it one way, but its the other way.

Re: P.M. Infraction Policies

"Theoretically," if there were a poster who made came to atf to bitch about "hypothetical" scenarios without discussing what actually happened, what do you think his punishment should be?

Please assume the following set of conditions are true:

1. This poster is annoying

2. This poster is passive-aggressive

3. This poster is obnoxious

This question has been bothering me for about a day now, but I can't discuss the specifics of the situation. So I thought this thread might be a good place to ask.

Thanks.

I am not bitching about anything. I made it clear that I have no concern with my specific situation. If it helps you move past this, I will state for all to see that I am a total prick and that I deserved 100 infraction points, should have been permabanned, and my unborn child should be kicked in the head. Happy now?

I am interested in the general policy issues as stated. If you are unable to think about things without colored pictures, diagrams and graphs, then this type of thing is not for you.

** "Theoretically," if you had a sense of humor and some imagination, what kind of jokes would you tell?

Whoa, where did I say my hypothetical was about you? Being a bit presumptuous, aren't we?

You're like a bizzaro Assani Fisher. Your posts are super-long and serious, but instead of being awesome, they're terrible.

Re: P.M. Infraction Policies

I'm going to go out on a limb and speculate that some of his PMs contained stuff like "I've already answered X question, I consider the matter closed". And you, rather than understanding that this meant, we're done, responding with another long, rambling, borderline incoherent PM.

How close did I get?
