NVG Modding Issue
It appears the Mods have basically abandoned NVG.
There are 15 or 16 mods of NVG and only approx. 2 to 4 ever show up. Its like giving out boy scout/wtg badges around here. Its beyond me why anyone would want their name to stand as an NVG Mod if they never go or post there.
It would be nice to see forums modded by people who actually participate in them.

Re: 2P2 Modding Issue
Mike Haven, Kevmath, MicroBob, Chump Change, tuq, ElliotR, EMc, AdamSchwartz, Matt Savage, Professionalpoker, Jamie Platinum, RayPowers, TheEngineer, NoahSD, SGT RJ, durrrr
Of the above, Kevmath, Noah, Sgt RJ and Jamie P are what I'd call 'proper' NVG mods, the rest are mods from other forums who were added to help out, and who don't necessarily read NVG that much.
I know PP helps out a lot, but he has many other things to do as well.
I know that whenever I report a post in NVG, and I report quite a lot, they are generally removed/edited or whatever is needed fairly soon afterwards, regardless of the time of day.
When you say 'only 2-4 ever show up' the majority of the activity of mods in the NVG forum is simply deleting crap posts and/or handing out infractions. These are not things that users can actually see, so unless the mods actually post in a thread, or a user makes a 'mod x infracted me just because I posted a picture of a penis' post you will not know that anything has happened, apart from occasionally when you notice posts are gone.
The mods that 'show up' show up because they were NVG posters first, and then mods second, and are still involved in an actual posting capacity themselves. The 'NVG' NVG mods were added because of their contribution to the forums and activity, so they will obviously be more visible than for example a politics mod just nipping in to remove a 10 post off topic fight between posters. The others come in, perform the required surgery, and then vanish. Good modding doesn't necessarily have to be visible.

Re: 2P2 Modding Issue
Don't downplay Professionalpoker's presence in NVG, IMO. He spends a decent amount of time in there and has beaten me to the punch on a couple of ninja strikes.
If there are mods who pretty much ever come in there, even when there are post reports, then I would support them stepping down and potentially being replaced by someone more interested in helping out in NVG, but I'm not sure any of the current mods really meet that criteria. I see activity from some of them during off hours for the US; if you aren't a mod and can't see the deleted posts/threads, it would be very easy to assume those mods were completely inactive, which isn't an accurate characterization.

Re: 2P2 Modding Issue
There is a high number of mods there to step in and help out occasionally because of the high volume of moderation needed. It's impossible for one person to do it all, although SGT RJ seems to be giving it a shot!
I'm still a mod in NVG and have been for a few years I guess. I haven't modded a thing in there in quite some time. But I don't see what harm it does leaving my name there as a mod to take care of something I might happen to think needs modding...just in case I happen to get inspired at some point. Is that a problem? We all generally consider it a team effort to try to keep that place reasonably on-track.

Not in my opinion, although I am of course just one poster/mod, and still a pretty new mod at that.
I don't care if other mods in there are particularly active or not. If the NVG mods and/or the community in general think we need another, then the logical response would be to request a couple of the less active mods step up a bit, and if they can't, then put on another mod.
I hadn't really noticed a real clamoring for more modding, though, TBH. If anything I tend to get accused of overmodding.
