New Feature: Save a Draft New Feature: Save a Draft

This feature will allow the user to save a limited number draft posts. This allows the user to construct thesis, and also all the complicated multi-quoting. Sometimes 30 minutes is not enough time to get all your thoughts together. While it's possible to use a text editor, it would be more convenient to add as a feature.

I'd work on that.

However, leavesofliberty's idea has a lot of merit. I would be very happy if it was implemented.

For my dog blog, I'll often start composing a post weeks or even months in advance, and update that draft periodically until it's time to post it. For example: I've been planning our big Labor Day weekend 5-MLB stadium road trip since March. Most of what I blog is markup heavy, and I like to "batch" doing that markup ahead of time, then later add the content (so to speak) in a more timely manner.

I just use gmail to write drafts. It's always open when 2p2 is open and it autosaves drafts, and if I start a draft on my phone it's right there on my computer as well.

!!!1!{/table]{/center]{/quote]{/color]" don't work outside of this little box I'm typing in right now*.

If you're referring to the edit window, and wanting to see the final post in order to make adjustments, you can do this before actually posting if you use the "preview post" button at the bottom of the reply page. (Or hit "go advanced" under the quick reply box)

I use this a lot, so I thought it might help.

That said, I have used other forums which auto-save drafts and found that feature pretty helpful sometimes.

It's not like it's going to happen, people. This is more of a... "IF I WERE KING" kind'a feeler post. I'd make a good king of tehforumz.

+1 for notepad++ (OS agnostic)

Also, Sublime 3 (Trial Version) is the weapon of choice for Linux if you're doing coding.

I'm embarrassed to announce that this feature already exists. It's called sending a PM to yourself.

you could always write custom definitions for sublime text, so you can do the markup in sublime text, and maybe even save time, but that's likely way over the top.
