Why is nested quoting a problem again?

Because too many people are terrible at trimming them, so you get posts that look like this. Waste of time and strain on my scroll wheel.

(a) it stretches out threads, which should be less of a concern now that the forums have a "fixed width" browsing option

(b) it adds a lot of unnecessary redundancy where a quotation just snowballs, especially where two posters are arguing back and forth

No srsly I was reading some archived threads (fslexcduck, aejones etc.) They would have been exceptoinally hard to understand without auto nesting.
