Re: My Pennpal account got "lag-banned"
Not really as totally out of the question as y'all might think. Probaby some technical issue, but frankly, I wouldn't put it past 2p2 admin/mods at this point.

Re: My Pennpal account got "lag-banned"
Hi Pennpal:
It's my understanding that you moderate a rogue internet poker forum that is simply a ticking time bomb that has the potential to damage our whole industry. This forum is full of ridiculous memes, jokes about being gay, and badger penii. We want to make sure that nothing on our site can lead to the argument that poker/gambling is some sort of societal ill that will destroy the underlining fabric of our society.
We also have no objection to any Two Plus Two member looking at another site, or being critical of our policies. We do object, and object strongly, to anyone who is some sort of public figure in poker, and you do qualify here, to publicly supporting what we believe will eventually severely damage our industry.
Your non-lagban status can be restored by disassociating yourself from this rogue forum.
Best Wishes,
Mason Malmuth

My pennpal account suddenly works, but not because I cleared my cache. In fact, I had already cleared it numerous times when I was attempting to troubleshoot this problem.
You did not address the issue of lag-banning at all. The fact that you posted a fake "technical solution" and then fixed my account is striking and a testament to the deception being used. I thought you, and the site, were above this.

I don't think the normal mods can do it, we already got input from dids etc. I'm pretty sure it's a red thing, though, and wish someone had access to the admin forum.
Anyone who knows me knows I'm not a conspiracy-type person, but I can't deny the facts, and RB's blatant "give him a bull **** technical reason so maybe he'll think it was a cache issue," along with the other people I've talked to that say it's happened to them, makes me think they're using this as a sort of "time-out" for posters they don't really have a reason to ban, but want to stop posting for a while.

It's funny how two accounts got the same problem after criticizing 2p2... almost immediately.. and then all of sudden 48 hours later, problem is resolved..
It's funny how nobody else has this problem... except for myself and pennpal...I don't understand why 2p2 is continuing to deny this kind of ban exists...
BTW, I cleared the cache and cookie numerous times...and it didn't resolve one problem... it wasn't until this AM when my account was mysteriously restored...

Re: My Pennpal account got "lag-banned"
FWIW I've talked to other "problem posters" who say this has been done to them at one point or another, namely Spamesky and JoEyPeNeLoPe.
To quote JoEyPeNeLoPe,

I find it suspect that I made a new account and about 1 minute after posting "don't let your vagina hit you on the way out" in ATF I could never load a god damn page. clear cookies and everything is ok.. made a new account everything is ok.. log back into other account totally ****ed. Then i see that it happened to someone else and my suspicions were confirmed.

Re: My Pennpal account got "lag-banned"
The fact that three reds have been browsing ATF and none of them denied this, which would be pretty easy to do, is more damning evidence.

Wow. This sentence made me cringe.
I liked how RB didn't even comment on the possibility of lag-banning, just a simple "Clear your cache".

Reason: Please don't lag-ban me, I will have nothing to do at work
