My Pennpal account got "lag-banned"

I don't think this post violates the "don't post if you're banned" rules because my "pennpal" account isn't technically banned. However, ever since I made the following two posts:

Quote:
The management of this site is awful in so many regards. For poker players, they sure make awful decisions and miss sick amounts of value
and

This is hilarious and completely expected. The administration here seems so completely out of touch with their userbase, the internet, and even poker strategy, that it makes me utterly sad and jealous that it was them who backed their way into such a profitable situation with this site.
My "Pennpal" account has literally run into a solid wall of lag every time I try to log on. Pages take minutes to load or do not load at all, often displaying error messages after 5 minutes or so of being allowed to load.

This is not a computer or internet issue; after I delete my cookies and log on through secondary accounts, everything runs as smoothly as high-speed internet should. Log back onto "pennpal," however, and it's lagfest '08 again. I've repeated this cycle numerous times trying to give 2p2 the benefit of the doubt, but I can only conclude now that my pennpal account has been deliberately targeted in this surreptitious banning process.

I asked around at the other, censored forums, asking if there was some hardware issue that can plague a certain account like this, and bmwguy525 responded,

Yeah lagbanning is the new permaban. They've been doing it to all the old 4L'ers in heat in hopes that it'll prevent them from simply creating new accounts. I've never seen you post anything that would bring this upon you, but you're probably pwned by RB.
I have no idea how they do this, but whoever's in charge, mind explaining what happened and fixing my pennpal account, or at least giving me a legit reason for the ban? The only time I've ever been reprimanded by a mod here was when I had a "**********" avatar and was banned for 10 days, but I changed the avatar and even later apologized to a mod for the misunderstanding.

I'm also upset because I've been sitting on this gimmick account for almost a year waiting for the perfect time to use it, and now it's already been thrown away in making this post. As pennpal I've made some epic threads, MSP's, and other contributions to the forum, and a recent sadness with the path 2p2 is traveling lately and a couple criticisms are no reason to ban an otherwise productive poster.

Re: My Pennpal account got "lag-banned"

You seriously think RB is trying to **** you over for your views on the adminstration of this site?

A little bit of a stretch no? Others users have had issues with the loading of this site and we've had some threads showing how you can optimize the browser settings to help with this. It's definitely been an issue.

Also, I tried to make the John Madden account before at some point, damn you. This outweighs your sweet paints.

Re: My Pennpal account got "lag-banned"

It sounds like a stretch to me as well, and if there's another reason why my pennpal account is completely useless, I'd love to hear it. Also I'm not trying to implicate any one person as "having it in for me," and I have nothing against RB or any of the admins really.

So really, I guess my questions are:

Is "lag-banning" really even possible?
If so, why me?
If not, what the hell's wrong with my pennpal account, and how can I fix it.

So you were just posting without problem and then BOOM! your connection was down. I tell you that Ryan Beal is the Brett Favre of Linebackers. I give him two turkey legs for that play.

Re: My Pennpal account got "lag-banned"

also, i have no proof of this, but it has been "documented" as a "time-out ban" by a few previously banned 4L posters who have been banned multiple times on different accounts and have now run into this with their current unbanned accounts

loooooool, but essentially, yes. As pennpal I can't even open these threads, and the laggasm only started after I made those posts. I'm currently posting from the same computer with a different account, and there is absolutely no lag time at all, even when opening tabs upon tabs. Apparently this happened to JoEyPeNeLoPe- not that I want to be compared to him, but I'm just saying, there's precedent.

Try clearing your browser's cache too. That generally works for most of these types of problems.

Mods, please un-lag-ban his account.... Pennpal's presence is needed in the ShaunDeeb Photoshop Thread.

I was going to start the thread on exactly the same thing happened to my account. I posted vehemently opposing Mason's ban of Gary Wise.. Next thing I know, I can't log onto my account. The server is busy or, the computer just hangs.. not allowing me to log on...

It is not the cookie or cache issue.... 2p2 is banning my account... When I lurk w/o logging on, I can navigate the 2p2 w/o any problem.. as soon as I log on... the server becomes extremely slow.. and it won't even let me access my account...

Thankfully, this AM, my account got mysteriously been restored. So I guess, I was banned for 48 hours.. although nobody notify I was banned...
