Re: Mods, when banning someone, should indicate who they are in the ban reason imo.

Admittedly, I don't ban people very often any more. However, I always signed off on any bans with an explanation of why they were banned. I can see in active forums why that might be a pain, although a "Stop trolling - Venice10" isn't too onerous.

That said if you are getting temp-banned so often that this is an issue, perhaps you should be spending more time on why you are getting banned rather than trying to figure out who did it.

Yea Mayo! perhaps you should be spending more time on why you are getting banned rather than trying to figure out who did it.

Automating this isn't an option in the near future. In general, it would be nice if people signed off on their bans. And I have requested that mods do so from now on, when they remember.

If they forget, or have reason not to, it's not hard to figure out who it was and to pass them a message from the concerned party.

I just love that we're talking about someone getting in trouble in ATF and it wasn't me.

I am fairly new to 2+2 and recently was banned for making fun of someone's mother after being cursed out. I admit the ban was probably justified.

The problem is I only use the Android app because its much easier for me to follow the forums throughout the day on my cell rather than my laptop. After the ban I tried to log on through the app and it said something about an error message and I was banned. Since it was my first experience being banned I didn't know for how long it was for or if it was permanent. This type of information is not available when using the app.

Admittedly, we're far from perfect. We try though. Like Avis.

How do we reach these mods tho?? Or if not them, the admins, super-mods or other mods??

...I wasn't going to talk about my issues with these bans, but since the OP has so kindly opened this "can of worms" - I might as well add my 2 cents.

Here's my problem - my gimmick account was (semi-rightfully) banned and this being my first ban on any forum AND my 1st infraction (that I know of) - I had no clue how to proceed or who to contact, since there was no name nor support contact email...

After a little searching, I did see a "CONTACT" link at the bottom of that ban page - so I sent a message (actually 3 or 4 messages) but to my dismay, no response (even to this day, no replies back). So much for that - (rather useless link). I tried to reach the mod in question, but was blocked.

Just like to add that I honestly thought I would receive a warning or a temp-ban since it was my first infraction - altho, I received a never ending ban! So sad...moreso cus I thought they had banned this account too - which is my main account and I will need it to eventually get back to playing poker, investing, possibly hiring a coach, etc...

When I finally tried this account to see if it was banned too..., to my relief it was not - (thanks to ban mod, I guess) Although, I believe it was an oversight on his part - since he did mention something about it in a thread somewhere.....which now leaves me wondering and almost afraid to post anywhere on this site, 'cept ofcourse the poker section. Mostly for fear he and his buddy mod or others like them-, might ban me simply because THEY CAN!

That being said - I have a suggestion which I hope you will give some thought to...

If a poster is banned from a "certain - unimportant" section of this site - is it possible to ban that poster ONLY from that section of the forum, where he/she had the infraction and not from the whole site? The overall site ban is a little exaggerated, imo..., especially with all the ban-happy mods you seem to have on staff in other sections of forum.
