If you think this is a great site, a large part of that is BECAUSE of the mods. Just as an FYI.

For every moderator action you see there's probably 25 (at least) you know nothing about. A lot of that behind the scenes stuff is what makes the forum enjoyable.

I think the posters are what makes a forum a good forum. Mods are great tho, dont get me wrong...

I probably didn't phrase that very well.

I didn't mean to say that the mods make the site good in and of itself. There are a ton of great, smart, generous posters on the site and that's what makes it worth coming to.

What I meant is that it's very easy to focus on the one or two mod actions/decisions you see (and if you don't like them, conclude that mods suck). Part of what makes the site good is the work mods do that isn't noticed, like cleaning up spam/nuking spammers.

First three paragraphs I agree with 100%. Final paragraph I disagree, most will defend their mistakes (as will most people and this is human nature). FWIW, thanks for your replies - more of this would improve this place.

BTW, does compute - it's a great website. Would be really great if the mods moderated.

But honestly the thing that's always irritating about posts/users like this. Is that I'm almost positive none of them have been scammed or needed one of the greens/oranges for help. Like it literally makes my head kinda hurt thinking about how much detective work the MP/P2P mods have to do whenever they log in. I'll assume most people on here have at some point had money taken from them or lent money they didn't get back. Well I've had friends I know IRL do way less than random people whom I've never met have done when I got scammed. Like it's not just like the mods don't give a **** about you and want to crash your party and eat your lunch. They're here to help this place be as ****ing awesome as it is. The mods job is terrible in reality, they volunteer and eat crap all day from ungrateful turds who can't read the rules and then feel like they've been singled out. The fact of the matter is, if you had just replied with "Hey sorry about that Mike, I obviously must've missed something." It's also most likely going to expire so it doesn't even matter. Plus given how much money flows in that thread and having some low post count guy come on and start asking for xfers is exactly why infractions are given out when you don't post your SN's. /rant

The fact they have a difficult job isn't an argument for them being egotistical. We all know it's not easy. When they give infractions because "they feell like it" then sorry mate your post is meaningless.

Seriously though, JMurder3 is a great mod. It is never about him, it is about what the accepted rules are and what is right for the forum. Not many people are able to mod one of the most loosest and one of the tightest ruled forums on 2+2 at the same time without complaint from either forum. I'm lucky to mod two forums with him.

Well then I guess we're safe, aren't we? I have yet to see someone complain about an infraction where it can be determined that the moderator was acting out of spite and not that the poster was breaking the rules.

well maybe and just maybe its not the mods maybe its you.
i have been on this board for quiet some time and generally dont read stickys.
somehow i still managed to get no infractions so far or maybe one not sure.
