Can a mod add a poll to this thread please? If there is a way for me to do it as OP I will but I don't know how.

I am quite sure >66% of users here feel negatively about tompakee's signature.

As others have said, if he would just remove the ****ing smiley face it wouldn't be so bad. I have him ignored anyway so w/e, but I would still be interested to see a poll.

I'm glad someone else has noticed this.

I was using a temporary sig in one particular thread (in response to something someone had said) and Mike PM'd me to say said they weren't allowed. I assumed I'd just missed reading the rule until this thread started and I checked and found there wasn't one!

If people could be persuaded to make any sig a muted colour they would be a great deal easier to ignore for those who don't like them.

Mods can decide to ban them in their forum (a la BBV) but there's no site wide rule AFAIK.

Wiki, your idea is genius. Great compromise suggestion. Although I'm not personally bothered by signatures, if everyone who used them did this in order to distinguish the sig to make it easier to avoid for those who are bothered by them, I think it would negate a lot of the sig hate.
