imgur being blocked? - About the Forums - About Two Plus Two Forum

Cant view images posted in threads, even some of the adverts aren't loading up, what did I do to my two plus two or browser settings? More importantly what can I do to fix it?

I'd try another browser to see if it's a problem with chrome or your 2+2 settings

thats the problem , I attempted Chrome b/c I was having this problem (so chrome is new to me) and the problem is still occurring.... I have reviewed and reviewed my 2+2 settings and cant seem to determine what the culprit is.

I use imgur for all my rehosting, and imo it's the most convenient and problem-free (until right now); ptb please look into this.

I don't get what's causing this, but it def seems to be something with caching because if I view the image in my browser directly, it works.

Some searching reveals that imgur has a block list (which I can't find, I just know it exists). Their TOS says that if people do "bad things", including uploading porn, they may, among other things, ban the site from which those users are then linking the images in question. My guess is that's what happened.

I will complain to them and so should other users, but my guess is it would work better if 2p2 made an inquiry. If the site has been banned, that's big.

imgur is obviously the best image uploader, lol @ imageshack (make an account hurrrr tons of ads) and pb (lol accountaments).

right-click resize/upload etc with chrome plugin.

anyway please look into it. it can't be traffic; reddit uses them ffs.

If I try to just open the pic directly in a new tab via right click, I get a 403 - forbidden, after a refresh it works.

So yeah, someone got blocked.

I wrote a note to them, invoking my pro membership there to get sympathy (or at least an ear), and requested that if they've blocked 2p2 they reconsider that, and also that they please respond to me. We shall see.

Yeah imgur seems to be blocking anything with a 2+2 referral header.
