How about a thread to compare/discuss poker sites? How about a thread to compare/discuss poker sites?

In the post-Black Friday world, players are always looking for the best poker sites to fit their needs. But how are we to compare sites when some don't have much of a presence on 2+2?

I play on two sites (both available to US players) that offer very different choices.

Site 1--Very turbo-heavy lineup. Low traffic, most MTTs have well under 100 players. Very soft fields, many players will check down every street when they miss. I have played my last 60 tournaments with no technical issues. SNGs run rarely, if at all--expect to wait at least 30 minutes to fill one up.

Site 2--Very buggy, freezes or crashes at least once a month. Heavy traffic, wide variety of tournament offerings at all levels from 11 cents to $100 and beyond. $109 MTTs are very popular.

There is no way for a player to find out this kind of detail without putting down some money on some of the less-publicized sites (I don't know whether my Site 1 has a 2+2 presence.) I think it would be great if we could have a site where people could look for what they like to play, whether it was superturbos or deep-stack tournaments with thousands of players and several hours of late registration.

Think how much easier it would be if someone could jump into a thread and say "Hey, anyone running PLO cash games?" and get an answer the same day.

I gave it a try. It's not your grandfather's poker ecomony. Sites sharing cashiers, maybe sort of, and certain cash game levels being ring-fenced on certain sites. It's bizarre. Almost none of the talk that I saw was about actually what it's like to play on a certain poker site.

I just did my taxes. My wife has multiple retirement accounts, I'm a Schedule C business (self-employed) and I am a retired soldier. My wife works for a health care company. Both of us have home offices.

Our tax situation is much easier understand than what's going on in the poker economy.

I'm not sure what that last post of yours even means - there are dozens of threads about all different sites where you can read existing posts and/or ask questions about what's happening. Sounds like you've been reading some bad threads.

If you're in the US (rather important information), this would be the place for your "Hey, anyone running PLO cash games?" question.
