He's going to be gone awhile, if not forever. But those of you who want him back should offer reasons.

He contributes positively to pog and has for years and years, playing games and running games. He's generally well-liked. He's just a legend. He had this pog gf that once tried to kill him, true fact. She had some mental problems and they've since split up.

I still find it funny you got banned for trolling by a mod who spends a great deal of time trolling.

Even funnier is you have a following of more or less the same posters, who despite repeatedly trolling you and trying to get rid of you, here you are. At this point every time they post about thekid they are just advertising their failure. The punchline though is, since they are almost all just as big trolls as they claim of you, their hypocrisy is where the real lols do dwell. It's like hamsters running on a wheel chasing a walking carrot. thekid thekid thekid. Hilarious!

Tbh, it's mainly that one I'm missing - if someone would step up as a replacement and post a ton with that avatar, I'm good.

I think mets is like Hemingway, with the hard-boiled writing style. Saying a lot with few words, you just understand the meaning beneath. He must be the master of short posting, there really is content in it.

That has also enabled him to become the master of posting frequency. Few posters would survive that without being banned earlier. And I don't think he is ready for a perma even yet.

I don't buy that he was banned for "trolling"

Because 2+2 is like a family and while you might send a family member to timeout for a short while due to recalcitrant behavior, you don't throw them out forever. The loss of one member who is valued by many is not just felt by the person who is banned, it is felt by everyone.

We become less as a group, less as a community, indeed less as individuals if we permaban mets. Obviously, I'm not fully aware of the exact sequence of events leading up to the ban, but I've witnessed very egregious posts lead to bans of far less than forever.

I'm not against anyone, especially Rapini and I'm aware of how difficult a mod's job can be. It's just that I can't help but feel that some compromise is in order that will allow everyone to be happy.

And I felt this way even when I only had tens of posts!

That was couched in so many caveats it's difficult to know what you were saying. If Mets is in any family, he's probably the crazy uncle who people often shake their head at but still like.

The first 2p2er that I ever met in person was mets. He is truly a credit to this community. He belongs in POG. I understand that some mods are against him, so banning him from B&M and OOT, I understand. POG needs mets.

well put, dnky. Mets has met literally dozens of pog people irl and won many friends in the process. Community is his middle name.

I am sure mets went over the line; I have no doubt that some time off is required and he should be exiled from B&M since he apparently can't control himself there. But I, too, believe at bottom that he is a decent guy that adds more to the community than he detracts.

Mainly because what he did warrants a punishment and an apology from him but not ETERNAL PUNISHMENT. Someone who has over 100k posts is bound to get an infraction here and there, the huge majority % of what he posts is fine.

Because banning people who are non malicious and established in the forum community degrades the senses of community, which is opposite of what a social media site such as this wants to do. Will it lead to a mass exodus? No. But it does make the place feel less social and appealing to the people who notice it (by and large). The reason 2p2 has the huge user base it enjoys is because of communities it fosters. It seems pretty silly to capriciously harm that when you have other tools available.

mets was one of the first people (that I remember anyways) to welcome me into the POG community. We had our differences since, but I fully support his reinstatement.
