Is it possible to make "Popular Forums" "Some Popular Forums"?

1. Immediately showing new users there's even more to it, popular forums and others
2. Making us using the other forums feel better, every user feels their forum is popular, at least among themselves
3. Numbers are much, but not all. Encouraging diversity, even if acknowledging the power of many

Um, no. You've actually managed to move up the ladder here, as Politics is the #4 forum, and has over 8x the page views of 4L.

Congrats, you finally found one that gets less traffic, although less than half as much rather than the big discrepancy that is implied here. No idea how those thread and post numbers work; they don't make a lot of sense to me given what the traffic is now and what it's been in the past, but I don't really care as those numbers aren't especially relevant.

Actually, you're demonstrating a bias that is clouding your judgement, because OOT crushes 4L and has for a long time. But who cares?

We've had one or two suggestions to merge some community forums. Discussion of that is helpful. Freaking out with a bunch of misinformed and then needless posts isn't.

Just to make it clear, whatever happens with The Studio, there's no plan to make anything disappear, and the active threads would definitely be going somewhere. Yours might be the best solution - probably worth seeing what TL; DR mods think.

Actually, it did come up in the mod forum - I forgot to mention it here, although it wasn't critical to the discussion as it's a subforum and won't really change the overall forum organization. But yeah, it does seem like a pretty silly forum to have around right now.

No. But it could be in there - it's right on the edge in terms of page views. Not that the list is in order of popularity anyway. It includes some of the most popular, and a few others I thought important to include.

Take the opportunity not to put POG in with sports though. It's games, not about games. Put it in with communities iyam.

Not sure what that means, but it sounds like a no. If you mean for trading funds, we have a dedicated thread for that in the Internet Poker forum.

I would like to see the blogs in Health and Fitness be a sub-forum. The main forum should be left to discussion of various Health and Fitness topics.

Wow the poker book business must be in serious decline. Sure mods will weigh in and state it has never been better though. Poker bust must be really hurting TwoPlusTwo. I really like Mason btw, think he's a good guy. Also politics forum is not a good look for pols you want to convince that poker is a game of skill that should get the same treatment that fantasy football gets. Just sayin.

The main H&F forum would be almost dead if you did that.

I'm really lost how this relates to the post you quoted. I'm sure poker book sales are down from years ago, but no mod would really be qualified to say anyway.

As for the forums themselves, the busiest forums have been a mix of poker-related and OT forums for several years, as they are now. Forum traffic is quite a bit lower than it used to be, but I think most people who have been here for a number of years are aware of that.

please don't kill 4l it's the only reason I come here ( Aussie land had banned online poker now soo.)

There's been pretty much zero consideration given to killing 4L or any other Community forum, aside from one person who started a thread about combining them, and ACEG hugely overreacting to it.

Would love more feedback about overall changes and less about people worrying that their favourite forum is going to disappear. But I appreciate everyone's passion.

Not that the Economics sub-forum only seems silly because of the current forum surplus. Once you cut the forum supply its value will shoot through the roof.
