No, nothing has been leaked.

Multiple people have complained about receiving emails in the last couple of days about numerous failed login attempts on their accounts. Also, we've had several cases of previously dormant accounts scamming or attempting to scam people in transfer threads and other places. We've been able to log in to some of those accounts with a couple guesses like "password" and "123456".

Nothing remotely close to this widespread a problem has occurred here before, thus the sense of urgency.
People actually used those as passwords? Geeze.

Checked the spam filter.

I have a second account as well, so maybe its that.

You can use dropbox. Or another cloud storage method that is safer (uses encryption). Dropbox should be safe enough though. Of course you shouldnt use the same password for dropbox and keepass

sorry about my rude reply =p i was only joking when i said change your name to pastor and go master....

next time please have skalansky send me message written in CAPS...

without a convenient link to click as that along with some guy claiming to be the master was cause for concern.

Why isn't there a 5 attempts and you are blocked from trying again on these forums? Almost all forums have that.. and it would make it a lot more difficult/time consuming for their brute force ROBOTS to run. 5 incorrect attempts and you can't login for 15 minutes would be good.

Btw, people are saying this email looks fishy.. What? If some hacker decided to send a mass e-mail from a twoplustwo.com email account to try and get your password, he wouldn't tell you to change it to something more difficult lol.. Also it's using the twoplustwo.com domain name so it's semi-safe for the moment. (Now if it says "gimme ur password" from a twoplustwo.com email address, obviously don't do it.. and report that an admin's email was hacked or they are drunk.)

Yeah cmonnnnnn 28th biggest forum on the interwebs! Think this site generates way more than enough money to invest in some security measures.

How often would someone's account get spite locked that way? Wouldn't be hard.

The Keypass db is encrypted. You can create a TrueCrypt volume and store that on Dropbox. Dropbox only uploads the diffs of the file. As long as it's only decrypted on one computer at a time you are alright.

I agree that this would be a great change imo.

Personally I thought the email was too ambiguous. If you want me to do something with my password you should tell me why. I never come to atf but this is of course what brought me here.

Sweet my account with ~4k posts got hacked, didn't get any emails with links. Actually the email addy that I think I used on the account (it's from 2006) I tried to request password retrieval but never got the email on the email address I typed in to request a change.

For the people lolling at me my password was ~10chars with about half numbers and symbols.

I got emails instantly on a gimmick account that I originally thought was the email of my main account. So not sure why the emails are being blocked for retrieving PW to my original account.

So my account is still logged in on my laptop but I can't change my email or password because it says I don't have the correct password right now - anything I can do?

Edit: Not getting the email from 2p2 with link to change my PW. And I am using the correct email.

2nd edit: Nothing in spam filter either. Very strange. Getting email for pw change on accounts I have like 1-2 posts on, but none for my main one

Not sure if this is related. But I'm logged onto my phone, like always. But now I can't log into my computer. Its states that I have the wrong user name or password. This is nuts. I'm also getting errors on my phone when I try to post and have to try 5 and 6 times to force it through.

Edit: Now it won't let me reset my password. Wtf is going on here.

Same here. My ~5 year old account is inaccessible even after requesting a new password. I keep getting the "You must wait 15 minutes to login due to multiple errors" or whatever it is. Anyone have any suggestions?

Same here with 2p2 app. It logged me out, and can't log back in. Still signed on through mobile safari, was able to change password but still can't log in through the app.

Same thing happened to me. Changed my password and got locked out. Finally got in after ~35 minutes under my new password. I want those 35 minutes back for trying to be smart and change me password.

I recommend NOT changing your password until admins get this sorted out.

It is happening to a bunch of accounts atm. Hopefully you will be able to log back in after 15 minutes.

I should have done this. Should have followed my instincts and not changed it yet. Now I have a temp password and can't even change it.
