Differences Between OOT, EDF, and TLD+R
I have read the FAQs (or what passes for them), but I cannot tell the difference between OOT, EDF, and TLD+R.
What is it?

Different crowds. Oot is a bit more strict then either one. Lounge is slower paced and tries to be more civil. Edf goes for detailed discussion of topics.
But mostly its about tone. Id say reads few threads from each and see which you like best

Re: Differences Between OOT, EDF, and TLD+R
Read the sticty posts in the banner of each forum, something you should do before posting anyway.
Think of these three forums as The Trinity. All Gods, just manifested in different forms.
Also you need EDF approval to start a thread in EDF, but not to post. This does not apply to The lounge or OOT. Think of OOT as God the Father, EDF as Jesus The Son and the lounge as The Holy Spirit, all separate but equal, and all will seem right within the 2+2 world.

Re: Differences Between OOT, EDF, and TLD+R
Breakdown:
OOT: The catch all off topic forum. The commoner's forum. Broadest range, highest idiocy, best and worst posters.
TLD+R: Nicer, somewhat older people who like to have tea together, plus the residual hangers on. Think office get together meets bridge club. Tolerant and welcome
EDF: The remnants of the few old time forum legends, high stakes players, businessmen, and a bunch of hangers on. The cigar club, but most of the money has gone thanks to the UIGEA, and most people smoke cigarettes now. This forum has the highest chance of getting a non-sarcastic response from El Diablo.

Yeah I still kinda don't get the differences either, but I'm not a regular reader / contributor to them.
Can someone explain "omg omg omg?" and why are all the topics locked...is this like an inside joke sub-board stemming from BBV4l?

Must be some kind of contagion they are trying to keep from spreading to other areas of 2plus2.

All of 2+2 is an inside joke. The David Sklansky and Mason Malmuth accounts were set up by some 4chan members as a joke and brag; they're holding the real Sklansky and Malmuth in a basement somewhere, Fritzl style, after a gambling session went bad in early 2001 and money was owed. Mason is occasionally allowed to post book reviews using his own account; the words are carefully vetted to see he doesn't tip anyone off, although the anger and disdain is quite real.
The Sklansky-Saura saga was unfortunately not real; she was another 4chan in-joke. They had the Mason account come in to shut it down when the joke got a bit too obvious.

Its a chat thread with no real purpose cept for forum regs to bs. At 10k threads are locked (else they would go on forever) to help with database indexing...post s also don't count towards post counts in there

Darn, I thought I would start posting there and be a shoe in for carpal/tunnel. Of course, at my age I already have it.
