I'm not surprised it was closed. I'm a mod on a board with @ 250k members and it is such a pain in the ass job dealing with threads like this, it really is. It sounds like an easy thing to say "just leave it open" but its a fine line trying to decide what posts to hide and which not to and which are really over the line and which arent. Sometimes this is honestly just easier.

That being said, as noted, there are some real absurd threads floating around that are allowed to remain open. Not sure why one is better or worse than the other.

As far as Trooper making new accounts to post under - this should be easy enough for the mods to chase down. If IP addresses are tracked that is. Should be easy enough to see if he's posting from Aruba or if he made multiple accounts. I'm also assuming that Trooper is not savy enough to circumvent the IP address tracking.

Trooper was never banned, he's free to post in the thread. The problem is that every time he comes in, the thread goes NUTS on him so he posts under gimmicks to try and argue with people, so now anyone unknown on there is Trooper in people's eyes.

I thought at one point the thread stopped having the 'report' feature added? Trooper wasn't banned, but considering it was him making multiple accounts and reporting any post he didn't like, he probably should have been.

Not sure, but most of the post reports were not from him. Despite me saying I wasn't going to waste time moderating it, I received 2-3 a day and 100% of the post reports in LVL were in that thread.

So Trooper did in fact use multiple screen name after leaving the thread. Mission accomplished Trooper, you sabotaged the thread because of the poker critiques.

With thousands of dollars ( poss waaaay more in future) are to be had, given by unsuspecting "fans", or staked, combined with an increased element of possible shinnanigans prevalent in this community we call poker, EVERYONE should care PLENTY when the recipient of said funds is likely being oddly deceptive and going out of his way to create a fake account/accounts to defend himself in a thread he calims he never reads... Somebody just create a new VLOG thread in a different relavemt forum and advertise it so people where know where it is moved to. Leave the Las Vegas forum to the 30 new threads a day where people ask which casino has the softest poker games. The mods like it that way, you know, where they don't have to actually work.

You realize there are hundreds if not thousands of people who view the thread daily that don't even hardly post right? You are ruining it for all those people just because of a few bad apples. If you don't like what they're saying just ignore it. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But instead of just ignoring it like any rational person you get on your high horse and ruin the whole thing for everyone.

As much as I hate to say it, I think you guys (the mods) should just ban people that are crossing the line. Personally I only posted occasionally in a civil manner, but I did skim through the topic most of the time after watching a video. I'm sure many others did the same.

Closing the whole thread seems like the easy way out. Either way, good luck making whatever decision. It's your forum after all.

This is great advice for a regular poster. But mods aren't supposed to ignore bad posting; they moderate it. If moderating/infracting/banning hasn't worked and it's taking more effort than it's worth to continue trying to moderate a thread, then locking it is pretty standard across 2p2.

Let me correct myself. I should have been more clear. In most cases, no one cares about inconsequential gimmick accounts.

With that said, I, like you, and most people around here always have to be concerned about situations that may lead to monetary disputes. If you are aware of important information and have any facts about anyone now or in the future that may be scamming etc. please post here Transaction Feedback & Disputes.

I can dig it. However, this thread has more views per day and more responses per day than any other thread by a longshot. That combined with a tragically flawed hero - we are going to see some crackpottery. I personally am sad to see it go and sincerely wish the mods would reconsider

The winrates bankrolls and finances thread had some serious issues over in llsnl. It is an important thread. It was shut down for a while for not dissimilar issues. The mods came up with a solution and the thread is now back on track.

Mods - gobo etc. Please hook up with garik, BGP, IRTM, and Venice from llsnl and discuss how they resolved those issues...I think a similar thing could get the thread back on track

People only want the thread open because it was schadenfreude incarnate. That kind of thing promotes a gang mentality and turns even a reasonable poster into an idiot because everyone else is doing it too.

Of course it got the more complaints. Any thread that is the least bit controversial is going to get more complaints than any other thread in the Las Vegas forum. the forum barely needs any moderation. It is just full of threads of people asking where the softest poker room is and pictures of people's shoes. I mean, it doesn't get more boring than that. So basically when trooper thread required a minor amount of work for the mods, which is greater than zero work with which they are used to, those lazy ****s were going to close it down.

No one who watched his thread would get a thunderbolt and envision making a living at 1 2nl. Good riddence . It was entertaining right up to the point of trooper tilting off. It was pretty much unreadable after that.

Why not just allow us to open a Trooper thread and ask a few certain posters to stay out of it
