Your post should be a thread topic. You, and many in P think that PU should be deleted because it allowes all sorts of viewpoints you find racist and unacceptable. Riverman later blamed the propagation of such views for the rise of Trump. Your solution is to attempt to ban those views, rid this site of them so that it won't be a platform for hatred.

I think you're both completely wrong, and the lesson of Trump is that you cannot push everything you disagree with into some corner and expect it to just away. You actually have to face those views and convince people they're wrong if you expect to change their minds. TS says a lot of inflammatory things, but you think he's special? Those things are on the minds of millions of people in this world because many of them follow from the facts as they see them. You haven't done a good enough job refuting those opinions, and you're foolish to believe simply brushing them aside with cries of bigotry will work.

I never called for a ban. I laid out a detailed argument for why I think that stuff is dangerous, and why personally I wouldn't want to provide a venue for it.

Your argument could apply to any hate speech, no matter how vile or incendiary. Why not allow the N-word in unchained, jokes about ovens, or ugly stereotypical caricature cartoons? I'm sure those things are on the minds of millions of people in this world as well.

The real problem is when people point out the bigotry and racism. That is unacceptable.
