Even better, although I do like that idea, how about a "rec PRE" button. This would enable a prospective poster to find out in advance if they were about to start a bad thread, and the thread would thus never get made in the first place!

Yeah, there will always be some who deliberately would want to start bad threads, but that would give the mods a good excuse to have fun using their ban-hammers.

TPTB should dangle the possibility of a 'rec' button so that everyone gets all excited and starts threads (or forums) to discus earth shatteringly important issues such as:

How big should the button be?
What shape?
What colour?
What should it say?
Should it make a sound if pressed - if so what?

Then there are the related issues such as:

Should there be an unlike button?
Should people who press it twice for the same post be infracted?
Is the like system rigged?

Really, you could devote an entire new site to the subject.
