Banner Ad Issues

ok I don't think I've ever made a thread here but I was just browsing 2p2 and saw a Rick Santorum for President banner ad. I know 2p2 is here to make money but I thought they also screened their ads to the point where someone who is so anti-poker as Santorum would not be allowed to advertise on this site. Was this just an oversight or did someone really approve allowing Santorum to advertise on 2p2?

that's part of the ad network. we don't see them ahead of time. i can remove it if you think that's best or we can let his campaign throw away a few cents advertising on a forum filled with people who hate him.

i'm willing to do either.

You should just throw this at the top of ATF, it comes up all the time.

"Hey, why is X advertising on 2p2? They suck!"

"Some of our ad space is done by a network, and we don't approve each individual ad on those. So sometimes something that isn't particularly appropriate to our forums gets shown. If it's offensive, let us know. Kthxbye."

This is damn refreshing and made me laugh. I don't really hate Santorum, but I'd never vote for him.

Remove it imo. He's very unlibertarian, and he doesn't support people's rights to play online poker.

**** Santorum

Keep it, he's bleeding money. Taking a few bucks from him certainly won't help his campaign.

If it's just a few bucks I'd get rid of it just on general principle.

One option might be to remove it, and then to do whatever you can to publicize the removal and the reason for it. It would be an opportunity to get a message out to the effect that there are people who really care about being allowed to play poker.

I'm not sure exactly how to publicize it, of course.

Good idea, but will not happen. Companies/persons wouldn't dare to advertise on 2+2 after that. So, bad business.

The irony of Rick Santorum paying to advertise on 2+2 is far too much fun to ever risk stopping it.
