I'm pretty sure that the person receiving said offer is the one to decide whether it's spam or not, especially if there's no strings attached.

If someone legit PM'd you offering a ferrari, for free, no strings attached and easily verifiable to not be a scam, is that spam? I mean sure, you could say it is, but then you'd be thinking so far inside the box you wouldn't even realize there was a box. If we assume the ferrari isn't spam, is a Mitshubishi Evo spam? A ford focus? A 5 year old renault clio? Where do you draw the line?

As for the topic at hand, I for one would be super happy if some 5/10 baws PM'd me and offered me free coaching, but then I actually have a brain and want to improve at poker. The moran who reported OP prob gonna be stuck at 10NL for the rest of his life.

I think we should get everyone in the various forums to PM Onion offering to teach him about their respective expertise in whatever they do. Just like, 5 PMs a day, spread out throughout the year. Then maybe he'll understand the difference between skipping a few forum posts and having his inbox flooded with **** he doesn't want.

I have loaded HEM up to try and do some hand history reviews but I find myself automatically going to the pots where I have ran bad and start feeling crap again and quitting that after 5mins.

You might look at these and think to yourself wtf is he moaning about? But this is 300k hands since October 2011 when I started my new database. I look at some of the other grinders playing the same games as me and they play 100k hands a month and have the big winning 10k and 15k months that I can only dream of this now.

I could put in the same volume if I could just get over my mental blocks so in short, this **** needs sorted if I'm to have a future in the game.

I'm not sure less than 3k hands per month online at 400nl qualifies one as a 400nl crusher.

I'll simply note that most successful coaches aiming for the micro or LLSNL level usually are active in those forums before looking for students. The level of advice given convinces students that the poster really knows what he's talking about and will be of help.

I realize that MMD is Jah Onion's buddy and nothing posted is going to change Jah Onion's mind that MMD was terribly wronged. Nor does it mean that MMD can't beat 100nl or even 200nl. However, if you can't even be bothered to spend some time on interacting with your target customers or figuring out the environment they interact in, it doesn't bode well for a business or whether someone can even relate to the issues the students are facing.

I don't really know why you have moved this topic into a discussion about whether or not I would make a good coach but I guess I will address your POV.

I only started playing 400nl 2-3 months ago. In those 3 months I have played less than 50k hands so my 400nl volume accounts for around 33% of my hands. I don't think anybody said I was crushing 400nl and lol samplesize but it's pretty obvious I can hold my own at this level.

When I look for coaches, and I have in the past the last thing I would do is go to the strategy forums and look for people in there. I look for results first and then I ask around and find out if the coach is reputable. If a coach is winning at 6bb/100 at stakes higher than the ones I play or stakes that I'm looking to reach then that's good enough for me.

Most coaches aiming for micro or LLSNL students play those games so it's natural for them to be involved in those forums.

As for your last point the whole reason I am doing the free coaching trials is to try and get some interaction with my target customers. It's been a long time since I received microstakes coaching so I am rusty as to what they are struggling with these days but if you are suggesting that a ssnl winner can't adapt very quickly to the issues todays micro stakes players are having then that's just absurd.

I should have added in my last post............hey I made a mistake pm'ing people, I won't do it again obviously and I'm happy for this topic to fall off the face of the earth as it's just getting tedious now, it's not really achieving anything and has the potential to just turn into a slanging match so I'm happy for the mods to lock it up if they are.
