Have you been talking to some of the "mod crew" privately? Because exactly zero mods in this thread have suggested they do or don't support "smp hate speech". But I think you know that already, just as you know that it is not "the official position of 2p2 that all homosexuals are incestuous? Or just the official position of smp?".

Instead of all this silly passive aggressiveness, why don't you just come out and say what the problem is and what you think should be done about it? Or contact SMP mods about it, or do this:

Didn't read more than a couple of sentences from a few paragraphs of OP so I can't say for sure, but that OP seems like the ignorant homophobic ramblings of someone with a psychotic disorder. Also skimmed the first few posts after OP and from a cursory glance it seems like one of the most offensive things I've read on 2p2 or anywhere for that matter.

If that's acceptable in SMP, that forum should just be shut down and that thread could get merged into stormfront. That said, it's probably not much worse than some PU content, but I don't read anything there either.

Anyway, complaining about it in the manner you did in a thread that about 10 people read seems like the most effective way to make sure nobody does anything about it.

chez, from what I've read in atf, I thought PU or whatever name it's on these days was 2p2's resident hate-speech forum.

Some hate it because we welcome 2+2ers posters with a wide range of political views, don't behave in a partisan manner towards those we profoundly disagree and don't allow abuse of posters outside some threads specifically designated for that purpose. The other side of the coin is that everyone has to make the effort to avoid being offensive/hateful to vulnerable social groups.

such content was posted, and rather than address it, the mods of the forum engaged in it and have created a culture that allows people like toothsayer to gleefully engage in such posting and cheerleading.

What should be done about it? I dunno, whatever mods are supposed to do to adhere to the above linked rule for the forum.

A lot of that list is very subjective, and you'll see those standards applied differently in different forums, as I'm sure you know. Since I'm not going to be entering that forum to overrule any moderators as that isn't my role (Hi Mat!), I haven't really looked at the thread in-depth. There certainly was some bizarre things I read in my skimming of it, but I couldn't say whether it's any worse than the sort of thing that's allowed in that and other forums which I never read.

I get that Noodle's passive-aggressive tone was annoying and counter-productive and he could have found a less obtuse way to bring this up. He is pretty goddamn annoying. Still, it seems like there is some rather extreme, Stormfront-grade homophobic **** being posted on your website that deserves to be brought to the attention of tptb.

The thing is, the mod of that forum already weighed in on it in the thread in question, and he seems casually bemused by it. I think Noodle's intention here -which he did a poor job of articulating 'cause he's kind of an ass-- was to get a second opinion/appeal from the management.
