No, but it's certainly not good for 2+2's image.

Edit to add (no pun intended)

It's not about the regulars that come on the site. I am certain 2+2 would never promote cheating but for new people checking out 2+2 this is a definite eyesore.

But this ad is going to ruin the image of online poker?

Sorry, Annie Duke, UB, FTP, multiple Ipoker, Ongame and Microgaming skins that have gone under and stiffed players and many, many other scandals (Brad Booth, anyone?) are truly serious matters. This ad is hardly anything.

Wow. Talk about missing the point.

Let's just have a big banner that says, "2+2's Official Position is that Online Poker is a Giant Scam and should NEVER be legalized in the U.S.".....and then when you click on the ad it takes you to Cars.com and has no relation at all to the shock-value statement.

Even if clicking the banner brings you to something that clarifies, "Haha. Just Kidding! Wanted to grab your attention" it is still irresponsible to have something like that up there in huge letters on the top of the world's largest poker discussion site that is also tied in with the PPA.

Whether I play on a rogue site or not has nothing to do with any of this and it's really quite a strange argument to make.

It gets me very riled up. But what choice do I have but to accept it?

If guys like that visit twoplustwo and see right up at the top' How to cheat online poker' do you think this will have a positive influence on the games?
I think not.
What about all those XYZ scamed ABC for UTP$ Threads?

What about the discussions about bots?

If you wish to have no negative 'potential' at all, you only have one choice: shut down the forum.

This is clearly a catch phrase and is very common in marketing / pr, so I really do not see the problem many of you have here? I also can't imagine that someone reads this ad jumps up from the chair, runs 78times in a circle screaming *omg omg omg cheaterzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz in online poker * and cashes out everything that he has got.

That shows how low standards I'm expecting from the ads after the Cheat one.

PS: looking forward to posting my 5000 itt, where the line between good and evil is defined.

Didn't have a strong opinion when I first saw it (I wasn't aware of it until I saw this thread as I didn't sell it), but my response was a quick one to the OP, who I thought was concerned about us advertising cheating.

Sigh. Shopped one was in obviously terrible taste, real one is not even in the same universe IMO.

Oh yes, so tight that we took a poker ad from a poker coaching company.

I get the concerns, and I think there have been some legitimate points raised ITT. I'm not completely convinced either way on this, but I have alerted TPTB to make sure they're aware of this thread, and I'll let them make the call.

Re: Ad for cheating

lol what a terrible ad. Ignoring the fact that it's surely a bad idea for 2+2 to run it, I'd seriously question the judgement of any poker training site that would choose to use that slogan for such a high profile advertising slot.
