I understand people in PU get an extremely wide berth to express what ever repugnant world views they may hold this goes beyond that. These are personal attacks that go way to far and the person that made them should be permanently banned.

Politics uses temp bans more as time-outs than an escalating series of warnings.

I think Fly's out of line, but his behavior doesn't come close to the worst we've seen in PU and far more objectionable posters haven't been punished.

Yeah, that's just straight up false. No one has been close to as objectionable as Fly in either Politics or PU without getting permaed. Only someone with very low levels of empathy would disagree.

And only partially succeeding, lol. That thread actually seems to go pretty well. Fly goes a little crazy (I'm calling it temporary insanity) and then a variety of posters come in and defend the OPs stance. It's raucous, but it is PU.

John Bland, when I hinted that you should take your cause to another thread, I wasn't really thinking of Unchained, there are other kinder places on 2p2. A bigger problem to me is that you seem to feel bad about being Aspey and you let people get to you through that. I used to tell my students that making fun of the way I thought was like saying, "Ha ha, you're really smart and good looking, ha ha!"

I'm proudly unique (and Non-neurotypical!) and it would be difficult for me to wrap my head around that being a flaw. (I know, I know, everyone else might...) Embrace your differences, we all have worth.

Okay, so imagine if instead of making dumb general racist statements, he used his racism in personal attacks on other posters and then had half a dozen idiots white knighting him when people called him out for it. Fly is way worse than SM.

verbally attacking an autistic poster talking about his autism isn't even the most disgusting thing Fly posted last night IMO.

Fly doesn't like Ikes, and the feeling seems to be mutual. they get into heated political disagreements on the internet. can any disagreement get so heated that its OK with 2p2 for a poster to bring up your father, who you posted was recently diagnosed with skin cancer?

just to be clear: Ikes posts about his dad being diagnosed with skin cancer. 100% of the posts are empathetic and supportive. Fly tucks that little tidbit of information away, then he makes a post like that (and im 99% sure there's at least one more).
