2+2 Android/Iphone App needs an update

It's been over a year

the android App doesn't show a lot of the info that the iphone app does

the iphone app has been buggy on the iphone 4 -- sometimes unusable according to people.

the android app force closes contantly. Have to force close it. etc.

ryan beal originally said that the android app would have frequent updates because they didnt have to be approved. it's had zero

with no ryan beal, will anyone take ownership of the phone app?

the latest update is currently being tested.

we're using tapatalk and have to pay them to make changes, so i don't know what Ryan was talking about.

I think this bears emphasis. 2p2 required some specific changes to the Tapatalk software to make the forum's features work, so the Tapatalk people have no particular incentive to keep it updated unless paid for it. Most apps can just be updated when necessary, but here it's a multistep process that entails additional expense. In this case the issues seem to have been caused by system upgrades (to iOS and the android equivalent), but that still means 2p2 itself cannot directly fix the problems.

I suspect that every time there is a major update either to the device OSs or to the forum software, we'll have to go through another round of this.

I think most people would pay a few bucks for an updated app

Im pretty sure the unstable force closes are when you exit via the home button instead of just back buttoning it until it closes. I havent had a force close in my two android phones since i started doing that.

I cant work out how to stop it deleting my subscribe forum links for no reason though, that can get annoying at times and there seems to be no rhyme or reason why it does.

Also the spoiler tag stuff sucks. Otherwise the app is great.

I'm glad to hear others have had the unsubscribe problem. I couldn't figure out if it was something that I was doing

spoilers showing up in subscriptions is perty bad

deleted posters not showing up at all is pretty awesome

ive put a few k posts in on both the android app and iphone one and the android one is so vastly superior its not even funny. never had an issue with the android one (atrix running cm7), while the iphone one was a disaster. it was the one randomly closing, loading to random points in threads, never loading pages.

I just got an iPhone recently, so I'm sorry if this has come up before.

When I typing a reply, I can't see what I am typing once the text reaches where the keyboard is.

Is there a workaround for this?

The update will fix it. (Well, I mean it does fix it, it just isn't quite through testing yet.) Typing posts and replies is much easier on the coming version.

It does this to me too. What I do is hit return a few times to put in a few blank lines at the bottom and then move the cursor back to where I want to type.
