I played on this table earlier and when I came back with my $2,900 stack there was no one there so I waited and he came in so we played HU for about 15 minutes which is very common at Everest Poker High Stakes because it's pretty much empty most of the time. I'm not a good HU player but I do this inevitably to start up a full table sometimes. I played conservative pretty much playing fit or fold poker against him but he kept outcarding me like over and over and I lost about $600 to him until all the seats were full.

I was on tilt when I made this call preflop because it is a really bad call but I ended up getting really lucky here.

I think I played it OK. What do you think?

Everest Kwania1 No Limit Hold'em ($5/$10) 6-Max Real Money (USD), 6 players

seat 1: Player1(BB): $1,708
seat 2: Hero(UTG) is Hero: $2,275
seat 3: Player3(HJ): $875
seat 4: Player4(CO): $1,852
seat 5: Player5(BTN): $1,568
seat 6: Player6(SB): $990

PRE-FLOP: ($15) Hero is UTG with J 8
Hero(Hero) raises to $35, 2 folds, Player5 raises to $120, 2 folds, Hero(Hero) calls $85

FLOP: ($255) 8 8 T (2 players)
Hero(Hero) checks, Player5 checks

TURN: ($255) 8 (2 players)
Hero(Hero) checks, Player5 bets $190, Hero(Hero) calls $190

RIVER: ($635) 9 (2 players)
Hero(Hero) checks, Player5 bets $460, Hero(Hero) raises to $1,965, Player5 calls $798

FINAL POT: ($3,858)
Hero(Hero) wins $3,151
Hero(Hero) wins $707

Hero shows [J, 8 ]
Player5 shows [A, A ]

I was afraid of straight flush just a little bit on river but what can I do? I have no other play than CR shoving here I think.

So I won my $600 back and some more, Yay!!

Once you had lost the $600, it wasnt yours any more so you didnt get "your" money back.

P.S. You are **** at the poker.

Unfortunately, I don't have any girl friend just some well paid FBs.

In fact, I'm thinking about calling one of them this weekend.

I think you misjudged me. I get pissed off if I lose $10 on 1000NL.

Thanks man. I didn't know I needed to drop down. I'm gonna do it starting tonight for sure.

OK, I was just kidding about $10. Let me explain why this particular villain put me on tilt. Before all this started, I was playing HU against him and I had a $2,900 stack and he came in with $1,000.

We only played about 15 minutes but I lost two $300 pots against him. First hand, he min raise on BTN and I call with AJo and the flop comes Axx. I lead, he calls, I lead, he calls, I lead, he calls, and he shows me AQo on Axxxx board. Second hand, I min raise on BTN with KQo and he calls and the flop comes Kxx, he checks, I bet, he checks, I bet, he checks, I bet, and he shows me AKo on Kxxxx board.

That to me is like the biggest coolers in HU game especially because I was just waiting for all the other seats to fill up, and I didn't even wanna play HU poker.

So, yeah I got lucky not losing $2,000 playing HU in 15 minutes but I absolutely hate value town suicides. So it's not the money but the way he put me under that put me on tilt.

I may lose three +EV races in one session of 1000NL and that won't upset me nearly as much. Does that make sense? May be not to you...but that's just how I am.

He was afraid of straight flush, but he overcame his fear and the rest is history.
I see a movie about this with Adam Sandler as OP and Meg Ryan as a villain.

Thank you for your comment.

Hey, sounds like you are a really good player!!

I play at EP, PS, Titan, and WPT.

If you play at any of those sites, please PM me your account name so that I may come sit at your tables and learn of your superior ways and be in awe of your great wisdom. You may punish me and I will consider my loss as tuition at an elite poker school.

What game and stakes do you play? I only play NLHE 6Max games.

If you play too high then I can't do this obviously but...

I'll go as high as 400NL.
